Shipping was super fast. Yeah, it's expensive shipping, but that's because it's a hazardous chemical that must be shipped with special consideration. The product is slightly clumpy already which implies to me it has been stored in a humid location, however it is easy to break up and put back in the jar (mine was received in a jar, not a bag).While people are buying beet powder for $40/lb, I'm going straight to the finish line with this food grade potassium nitrate. Beet powder, which is only consumed for its nitrate content, is rarely if ever tested for nitrate content so it might be different from batch to batch if it's present at all. Taking a pure nitrate salt, like this product, allows you to precisely measure how much you are taking so there is no guesswork and it's infinitely less expensive on a dollar per gram nitrate radical. This Potassium Nitrate either stand alone or combined with Sodium Nitrate can be used for stress relieving metals specifically rifle cases. Known as "annealing", when heated to an appropriate temperature dipping the rifle brass neck and shoulder into these melted salts will prolong the life of your brass and prevent neck splitting especially with wild cat casings.
