Can only give it 3 stars, if I could do 2.5 stars that would be perfect. The reason, only 1 of the 2 solenoids worked. They came exactly as described, they are not copper like a few posts stated. Amazon immediately shipped me a replacement one. This is also not uncommon for solenoids to not work. Its a shame this is how things are made now days. The solenoids I replaced in my boat were the original ones from 1989.

I had a problem where my boat would turn over but if I kept turning the key over and over it finally would start. I replaced the starter and solenoid and still have the same problem. One day my trim stopped working so I replace the trim solenoid and bam the trim started working and the starting problem went away.

3 successful boating trips with solenoid before failure again. Unit installed only 3 months. Battery arcs when connected. Starter continuously runs....all signs of a bad solenoid.

Exact fit to replace my old solenoid that was causing a no start on my 5.0 Mercruiser. Before I would turn the key and could hear the solenoid click but the starter would not engage. Now it works every time on my first trip out.

I ordered 2. One had no hardware with it and one works intermittently....I have to press the trim switch about 10 times with nothing but a click each time before it finally powers up the motor....the up solenoid works correctly. so, it is not the motor or the switch.

Worked great, exact fit. Way less expensive than marina prices.
