I've been using a Lifeproof Fre for about 6 months. The Lifeproof has a number of shortcomings: only being able to use the headphones and charge cable that came with my phone, having poor audio quality when making calls, and having poor picture quality when using the camera. But the Lifeproof is virtually bulletproof.I got the Supcase Unicorn Beetle because I was tired of making compromises. Also, I have a Unicorn Beetle on my tablet, which I've been really happy with.In comparison to the Lifeproof, the Unicorn Beetle, is more practical in terms of being able to use whatever headphones or charge cables you want. It comes with a fairly handy belt holser. Also, the audio and picture quality is significantly, noticeably better. Plus, the Unicorn Beetle's integrated screen protector fits like a glove (as opposed to the Lifeproof's screen protector, which I find really baggy and loose). The downsides of the Unicorn Beetle are that the screen protector gets covered in fingerprints, the ringer on/off switch is hidden under a little flap (as opposed to being readily accessible on the Lifeproof), and the case is quite difficult to remove. Plus, the Unicorn Beetle is not as indestructible as the Lifeproof (although the Unicorn Beetle definitely does not claim to be indestructible...).Long story short, I'm going back to my Lifeproof. No case is perfect - I guess I've just gotten used to the Lifeproof's quirks.

To the point:Seems like it should protect it from drops. Good design. Buttons are smooth and easy to press. Easy access to needed ports.For rambling read on:It's not waterproof but thankfully I can finally hook up some headphones/aux cable without needing a lame extra adapter. I've never dropped my phone in the toilet or went swimming with it anyway. I bought this after having a well used Lifeproof case. My Lifeproof case went bad after about 6 months. Rubber edges frayed and peeled. I didn't feel like I excessively dropped it or wore it out so much to get it to the unusable point. I didn't want to spend another load of $$ to get another to last me only 6 mo. I will say that my phone inside is in pristine condition though.So far I dig this SUPCASE. I have had it for a week now. I like the belt clip too. It says to only use it with the phone facing the clip (so you can't see your phone screen). But I've found it works just fine without damaging anything the other way as well.

I've been using this item for a couple of weeks and I love it. I just got an iPhone -- I graduated from a cheap $30 no-contract phone that I had for several years. I was always dropping it and it fell from my motorcycle a couple of times yet survived but was scratched up. I figured if I'm spending some money on an iPhone, I ought to purchase a protective case. This one does the job great: it's nice looking, well made, seems to offer good protection and the phone and screen remain easily and highly accessible and functional. I don't expect it to last forever but if the clip on the belt holster lasts for 6 months, I'll feel like it was a good deal. Even when the holster does break -- and I'm sure that it will -- the case for the phone will still be intact and useable. I would -- and plan to -- repurchase this item when the holster wears out. I have also recommended the case to friends and co-workers. Great little item !!UPDATE: 12-2-16 -- I've been using the case for a while now. I'm not sure how many times I've dropped my phone but it happened again today when the phone slammed down onto the concrete floor then bounced end over end down a flight of concrete steps. From having dropped my phone onto the asphalt, I was pretty sure my phone would be ok. Pretty sure. My co-workers gasped when this happened and, when I picked up my phone, asked if it was ok. Sure enough, my phone is fine and the case has no additional marks on it. Great product. I talked my wife into getting one, too. She doesn't drop her phone but it's good protection if an accident happens.

The case is very simple to install and fits snug around all edges. It definitely protects the whole phone well and I feel more confident holding it and using it in general.The buttons feel sturdy and are easy to push. The Touch ID still works the same as before too. The screen protector is also a plus and you hardly know it's even on. When the screen is off you notice a rainbow, fluorescent type color to it. When in use it doesn't show up though.There obviously is a slight bulk to it but very minimal compared to something like an otter box defender case which is good. It's my first day putting it on so I'll see how it stands up over time, but as of now I am sold.EDIT: FEBRUARY 23, 2015So I've had a chance to experience this case a little more since I have gotten it. First thing I have a problem with occasionally is access to the silent/mute switch on the left side. My fingers are larger and I can't use my thumb to switch it on or off because the port to access it is a little small for me. It's not as convenient as I'd like it to be but for some people it might not be an issue for individuals with smaller fingers. I have taken the case off once and the removal isn't too difficult. Just remove the corners first then the rest will pop out. But make sure when you re-install it that no dirt or lint gets caught between the screen protector and phone screen otherwise it will be annoying to do the process all over again. Also dust still gets trapped inside the ports even when they are closed. The back of the phone where the camera port is at also get dust around it. When I remove the case, there's dust rings around each area where there is a port cutout. It really does bug me but the case is well built enough to where I won't remove two stars. Sometimes dust or debris gets underneath the screen protector, which is also annoying.

Very good product overall, the case is easy to fit, nice shape and strong (dropped my iphone already without damage). Very strong and esthetic. Overal, the screen stays fluid and I can navigate fairly easily.The drawback I see is regarding the screen, it is not to be used in a damp environment as it can catch some water underneath.It is hard to use the edge of the screen, for example, when you move an app from one screen to another.

This does offer protection against damage. Unfortunately, front cover clip has broken off so now I cannot use it. I'm glad it happened at home as I could have lost the phone? I now use the back plate that does the job nicely. I would look for other alternatives.

They have good grip due to the rubber bezel,case doesn’t add too much bulk thus compromising protection.If anyone one is thinking of using a Qi wireless charging receiver, it does charge with case fitted.

This case is excellent for this price point. I have dropped my phone countless times on hard surfaces from various heights and this case has done the job. I'm really clumsy ( broke two iPod touches a day apart once) and I need this in my life. The screen protector is scratched up now but after a year of hard use in a harsh work environment this is understandable. I'm going to treat myself to another one. Of note if you have iPhone SE. just order the 5s one. Same thing but cheaper for some reason.

My dad loved this case, he now need to get a new one though because the clip broke but he loved it because it stops dust and really protects the phone while he works
