Fantastic mattress for back support even if you are taller/heavier
I do not generally write reviews but wanted to share my experience with this fantastic product. While I love camping, my back gives me trouble so I used to dread when it was time for sleep. My husband and I first started with a camp cot. My back ended up aching in protest. I bought a queen size air mattress as a topper in an effort to help me get a better night's sleep. My back again was not happy. Finally after researching I found this product and it is amazing! I just gritted my teeth when I saw the price and hoped for the best. I slept with it on our tent floor and had a FANTASTIC sleep. I am on the tall and heavier side so I wanted to share that the firmness of the mattress did not deflate at all over night. It is incredibly convenient as it self inflates and packs away in a nice little roll. I did not feel the floor at all through the mattress and could not believe how comfortable it was. The support and quality of this mattress is amazing-well worth the money! Now my husband will be getting one as he had an air mattress which deflated somewhat overnight and it did not insulate him from the cold at all. Just two things to note: my mattress took about 24 hours to fully inflate the 1st time, then only a few moments after that when camping. Also to roll it back up-I recommend lying on top of it and releasing the air valves to force the air out faster. You can then roll up the mattress much more easily. I press my knees on the parts I have rolled to continue to compress the mattress and force excess air out of the open valves. Honestly-if you have back problems, miss your memory foam mattress from home or are concerned because you are taller or heavier-this is the mattress for you.

AMAZING
Just buy this. If you are looking at this sleeping pad you are probably looking for something comfortable and WARM. This is it, buy it. I was always cold even in my -15 degree rated bag and very nice pad both from Big Agnes. Since purchasing this thing, I have actually had comfortable nights sleeping while camping in Colorado! YAY! Its very comfortable, well made and its warm. Its held up to my toddler being rambunctious on it and my dog taking over while we weren't in the tent. I dont find it hard to deflate at all. Yes, it takes a few minutes but if you follow the instructions for deflating it you wont have a problem. Deflate and roll up to put in the carrying bag. Definitely for car camping but I mean if you were going on a long backpacking trip and want to be comfortable it wouldnt be completely out of the question to attach this baby to the outside of your pack. Buy it, Totally worth it.

Comfortable and great for car camping
It is great for car camping. I used this inside my van along with a minus 25 sleeping bag in the winter. It is a lot more comfortable than the foldable futon that I had used previously and takes up less space. It is not good for hiking because even when rolled up, it is a bit too big. It takes some work to get it back into the bag. You need to roll it and knee it get the air out then close the valve to keep air from getting in. With a tight roll you can shimmy the bag over it. I also need to blow air into it to get the right firmness.

Very Comfortable
I have two. One for me and one for my wife. As we get older you need a bit more comfort camping. This is an excellent product. The only complaint I have is that it takes about a half hour to inflate. You also have to work at it to deflate it once inflated. The dual air valves help but they could be larger. Other than that it is light weight and very comfortable and best of all....The wife is happy!

Comfy.
This is a wonderful mattress for those who like to be comfortable. It is not highly compact when rolled. And takes a bit of figuring and effort to roll it back up. But it is light. And very comfortable. Superior to the air mattresses I have traditionally used because of the great fabric and insulation. It is not slippery, or plastic feeling like a poco pad. It doesn't get cold from the bottom like an air mattress will. You don't need any kind of pump to blow it up. Self inflates. And I usually add a few breaths of air. Expensive, yes. But so far I really like it. I do leave it inflated for storage.

Most comfortable sleeping pad in existence
So get this out of the way: if you're going backpacking, this sleeping pad probably sucks because it's going to take up 75% of your pack. You will forget all about that, however, when you lay down on it. As a thing to sleep on, this is more comfortable and higher quality than any air mattress I've ever used. I have a sleeping pad that I take backpacking with me that is super light weight, but you sacrifice a lot in comfort with that. This is something that you don't feel embarrassed to bring out if you have guests coming over that need a place to sleep. I'd recommend this for car camping or maybe back packing for very short distances. You will never sleep on a more comfortable mat.

Complete Dud. One side never inflated.
Ok, so I purposely ordered the 2018 version of this sleeping pad due to comments about the newer ones being less durable. Opened it as soon as I received it yesterday, unrolled it, and opened both valves. Hours later, it hadn’t “self-inflated” at all. Knowing it has been stored for several years rolled up, I wasn’t surprised. I attempted to blow it up with the valves, but only one side actually inflated. I began wondering if there were 2 separate chambers that needed to be blown up, so I closed one valve, and tried to blow up the other side with the 2nd valve. No difference. One side stayed flat as a pancake. I tried laying on the inflated side to force the air to the flat side. No change. I decided to just leave it overnight to see if the foam expanded. It didn’t. Okay so now I will return it and order again. Not happy. Always thought therm-a-rest was a top notch gear company. Now I wonder...

Very comfortable but this mattress is not for trekking
This mattress is great for sheer comfort. But it is very bulky and, in my experience, extremely difficult to compact to a size where it can be shoved into (just barely) its tote. Since I personally have plenty of trunk storage, I can live without fitting the mattress into its tote and that is what I do. For me, dragging it along is worth it because as a mattress, it is great.

Best purchase i have made
I have 4 different air mattresses, and this one is by far the best. One of my others is supposed to be a top of the range with many innovative ideas. However it leaked air and does not support as well as my thermarest, sorry outwell. My therarest has never let me down

schlafen auf Wolke sieben...
....in Abrahams Schoß. Habe seit neunzehn Jahren drei verschiedene Therm-a-Rest Matten in regelmäßigem Gebrauch.
