Top Cow's Best Of Dave Finch

I bought this book to use for my own reference material as I hone my skills at laying down comic book type lines. I feel as though every page of this book deserves to be in it's own display case instead of next to my drafting table. Finch's art is truly incredible and would easily earn a spot next to that of the late Turner in my book.Not only that, but amazon's pricing cannot be beat (although if you can afford the extra $ spent do support Top Cow publishing).There is nothing more to be said about this compilation other then it's stunning and anyone who loves comics books, or good art should have this in their collection.

This book was amazing! Dave's pencils are very tight and seeing his technique is very inspiring. I only wish they wouldn't have added full comics to the book. There's even a Witchblade book where Billy Tan did 5 pages of pencils. I also wish he had a Step-by-step on his approach to a piece; much like Alex Ross does in some of his art books. Aside from the small negatives, I believe David has a distinctive enough style that'll make him one of the greatest graphic novel artists of our time. This first "best of" is the tip of the sword.

I thought this was an "Art of ..." book but 's not. This is not a sketchbook. It is a graphic novel featuring comics drawn by David Finch.

The art is beautiful, David Finch is awesome artist, but i would like to see more pencils.Most of the book consist of random comics put together.For me there is a little(not enough) added value to the content that is already out there.It's more like advertisement - here, I'm David Finch and these are my samples. If you like it go by full version.I wanted more clear pencils/inks to watch it gives you a lot of information and his pure style.

David Finch is one of the best comic artists out there today form his Top Cow work to his Marvel and DC stuff. His art is truly amazing and it is done with such fluidity.

This is a nice book if you are a Dave Finch fan. It's one of those typical books were several images were captured and consolidated into one book.

I am not in a position to criticize a professional comic book artist, and I enjoy Dave Finch's work, but I think he goes a little too far with detail. Too many cross hatching, too many veins. He over complicates a lot of work making it a little confusing to the eye.That being said, I did enjoy the Ascension comic very much. I just think he should tone it down a little. This is a decent collection, but nothing really that cannot already be seen in his previous works. Not much new here.Worth picking up at a cheap price

With the price, you get lots of Dave's original Sketches, I just love his unique style, so story wise, I don't really care that much. If you like his art work, get it!

I only give this a 1 since I thought it was kind of like an art of, but its a graphic novel instead

Beau comics en anglais avec de très belles planches des "meilleurs moment" des grands classiques de chez topcow. La couverture est moins verte en vrai, plutôt cendrée mais ce n'est pas grave.
