Great bug-out or EDC bag!
Great construction quality. You can't really beat Eberlestock. I'm still getting used to this particular design but everything seems to work really well. The only substantial issue I have (and I knew this going in) is that I prefer hydration sleeves along the back panel. This pack has two dedicated hydration pockets on either side. They fit long h20 reservoirs fine (short fat ones not so much) but it creates an imbalance in the weight distribution if you only use one or as one side becomes depleted as you drink. An insignificant flaw is that on the top zipper pocket the rain flap leaves a few centimeters of zipper exposed on both sides. This would be even less of a deal if it was on the front of the pack but it is on the top, where rain might settle as opposed to running off. I'm just confused by that because Eberlestock pays so much attention to detail and the fix for this would be a few extra centimeters of fabric. In any case, the overall design of this pack is not well suited for extended rains, as water would likely collect in the external pockets, bottom flap, and seam grooves. For my purposes, I would use the Eberlestock dry bag attached to the F1 Mainframe pack any time I might be exposed to heavy rain.As a bug-out or every day carry bag, this thing is pretty sweet.
