Engraved/Personalized - Pilot Metropolitan Retro Pop Fountain Pen Turquoise Barrel with Dots Accent - Custom with Your Name (Fine Nib, Turquoise) 91436

This was an engraved pen. The choice of engraving was visible, on the pen, before your purchase. This was certainly intriguing! I do have Pilot Metropolitan pens so knew I'd love the pen nib. I ordered this engraved pen at 12:06 AM on 8/17/16. Today, 8/19/16 at 1:30 PM, I am sitting by the water on the Coast of Maine, WITH the pen! The pen is more beautiful than expected! The engraving is as depicted on the site; my engraving is in Script and is silver. I believe the silver is beneath the purple color choice. The engraving is tastefully placed/balanced on the cap. This pen wrote flawlessly right out of the box, with Pelican Brilliant Brown,using the enclosed converter. The speed of delivery of the pen was really impressive - especially with personalized engraving! If you are a pen lover, this is a lovely treat! Visually delightful - especially with your choice of engraving. This is a serious work horse writing instrument, consistent and trouble free. My only caveat is - consider not posting the pen when writing. Perhaps something may be rough inside the cap as it nicked the purple on the barrel,revealing silver beneath.I am absolutely delighted with this purchase (trying not to buy several)! Enjoy!

Update March 15, 2020 -- ordered another one. I have a number of different colors and have ordered different colored ink.. perfect for journalling -- helps to slow the mind down! --- I've purchased a number of fountain pens on Amazon and not been 100% satisfied with any of them... perhaps its the fact that I ordered this one with a "fine" nib...but it has become my favorite... I ordered personalized and it still came in 2-3 days... I'll likely order more because this would make a good gift.. now, why use a fountain pen at all?? it requires you to slow down and think.. there is a lot of science behind the act of actually putting pen to paper with your thoughts... using a fountain pen just makes it more elegant and thoughtful, for me, anyway... I've even got a few of the young folks in my office to start using them for their creative work!

I tried a fine nib pilot metro and it wasn't working for me, so I gave it to my sister and decided to try a medium. I also bought some ink (CHEAP) for the converter along with the pen. At first I was disappointed because it wrote very thin like the fine nib and I was bummed out. I decided to try the black cartridge that came with the pen and now it's PERFECT (for me) The bottled ink that I bought was just writing way too thin. So for me it's the medium nib and the standard pilot ink cartridges until I can find a thicker ink for the converter. The standard cartridge is "Pilot Namiki IC100 Fountain Pen Ink" if i'm not mistaken. I'll not name the bottle of ink I purchased for the converter because I'm just not experienced enough with fountain pens in general and wouldn't want to discourage people - it got good reviews for the price.Disclaimer: My handwriting is bad and I'm trying to improve it for writing my kids - I practice by just taking notes on paper at work versus in notepad++ on the computer. I have very little experience with fountain pens.

This is my first fountain pen. I had wanted to try using one for a long time. I love words and like to write. I wanted to try a fountain pen, wanted a good one but didn't want to spend a lot of money in case I didn't like it. This pen is very pretty and comfortable to hold when writing. It writes smoothly; no skips or globs of ink or dry starts. I like it so much I'm considering getting another with a different size nib on it. We'll see. This is an excellent pen for a beginner because it writes so nicely. It is also great for an experienced fountain pen enthusiast because it is comfortable and writes well even for extended periods of time. Mine came with a basic converter and one ink cartridge. I haven't used the cartridge. Instead, I ordered a bottle of ink and have used the converter consistently. I love filling the converter then seeing the ink appear on paper. I haven't written with an expensive pen but I cannot imagine a pen writing more smoothly, more beautifully than this one.

Quick shipping and the pen is beautifully engraved! The engraving has good color, clear font, and is symmetrically placed on the pen cap! Far better engraving quality than the one done at a local ThingsRemembered shop! I wish this seller would sell many other types of fountain pens with engraving. I would love to get a Cross fountain pen engraved by this seller's shop.

This fountain pen is absolutely beautiful. It is very light and feels great in my hand. I was a little perplexed when I unscrewed it because I have never seen a converter like this before. I actually had to look up a video, which I found very quickly that Pilot made, in order to know how to fill the pen. Ingenious is all I can say! It also comes with a cartridge as well (black ink). I decided to try a fine nib. I love it!I am fairly new to fountain pens, but I don't want to write with anything else! The fact that you can personalize this pen makes it great for gift giving.

I belong to a Stationery Group on social media, and the Metropolitan Fine Tip Fountain Pen was recommended to me. I had tried the Pilot Varsity disposable fountain pen, but I found that the medium tip was too wide for me. I was ready to give up on fountain pens. Then I discovered that this pen had a nice heft and could be personalized. The Retro Pop colors are fantastic! I am now a Fountain Pen Follower and have purchased another for my mother for a Christmas present. Tip: Order the refills with the pen because they are about $2 cheaper than when you buy them separately. The refills come 12 to a pack. I highly recommend this fountain pen to those who are just starting out in this addictive hobby.
