Affordable and Less-Worrying Option
I absolutely love having music with me when I travel, and I haaaate the sound quality on most mobile devices including my cell phone. However, when I have expensive toys/electronics with me when traveling, I get nervous. Hence, something like this speaker - it still allows me to enjoy music while being a bit more on the "not a lifechanging event" if it would get wrecked or accidentally left-behind. It's also a beach-friendly speaker because I'm not terrified of getting water or sand near it since it's relatively closed-off from outside elements including a silicone stopper near the AUX input and charging port. With that mindset in mind, I'm impressed by how well the speaker performs. At regular listening levels, the speaker is pretty clear without much fuzz or garbling. It doesn't have the deepest or most contrasting sound, but it sounds 200x better than your cell phone or MP3 player. I'm most-fond of using it to play sound for watching TV or movies on a tablet, but it does a pretty good job with the music options as well. It doesn't quite nail the intense depth of Nine Inch Nails tracks, but it's great with most R&B or country.Plus, the speaker is relatively sleek. Look at the design on this gorgeous toy. The red and black color scheme looks pretty sexy, and it's impressive when you first pull it out. It may not fit in with all decor schemes - but hey, it's designed to be portable!Charging works pretty well too. I've easily run it over 9 hours before charging it again, and it still hasn't died on me before I was ready. Charging up to a full battery does take a couple hours, though, so plan accordingly. Plugging it in to charge is easy, though. Plug it in and leave it.With affordable electronics like this, you have to give up some "features" somewhere, and with this one, you don't get a carrying case or any protective case for it. Lots of portable speakers tend to come with one, but this one doesn't. While it's not always an annoying problem, you'll find yourself wishing for a case because of the heft. The speaker has a decent amount of weight to it compared to other "portable" speakers that I own. It's not a huge deal, but a case would have made this less-worrisome to throw it into my purse or bag to help handle the weight.

Great Sound Bad Apple From the Bunch
The speaker arrived quickly. Once I paired it with my tablet I thought it had decent enough sound. However it only worked for an hour. I paused it to take a call on another device and when I returned to continue listening to music it would not play yet, the blue led light is solid. None of the buttons are working it is as if it is "stuck"! I tried charging it and still nothing and 13 hours later I just a a speaker that doesn't work with a perpetual blue light shining. I am so disappointed because I had plans for the weekend and needed this speaker to work for my small engagement. Like I said it has great sound I cannot deny that.UPDATEIf you have to return it or get a refund do so THROUGH AMAZON!! I cannot stress this enough. I am sure Thousandshores Inc. will not compensate me for ruining BOTH of my gatherings. I'm going to have to go out and by a speaker today for the event I am having Monday Wow. I won't be receiving a replacement until September 9th I bought it August 13th.I have no speaker for the holiday because of this issue Terrible process for handling returns so disappointed.UPDATEI finally received the product on 9/7/2017. As stated it the speaker has good sound for what you are paying.

Great sound but not so great water resistance
The best thing about this speaker is its power. It can produce a lot of volume and maintain good sound quality. It's a pretty heavy duty speaker with some weight to it. It has a durable rubber coating all around. I think you could drop this thing over and over and it would have no effect. It is completely sealed with the exception of the aux jack and micro-USB port which are covered by a rubber flap. Why the lower rating? It wasn't very water resistant. Given the rubberized and apparently sealed case, it suffered when I took it into the shower and it got splashed. Just splashed, not hit directly by any water. The speaker became muffled. I was able to let it sit and dry out then it was fine. I emailed the company. Maybe the one I got has a defect or you just can't splash the grill. I'll update the review if I get a replacement and it works or I misunderstood the water resistance level. An interesting flip - you press the forward/backward button once to change tracks. You hold them down for volume control. In my experience, this is the opposite of how they are usually set up. I actually like this better. I tend to set the volume once but I like switching tracks. One little quirk too - it is hard to tell the difference between the buttons by touch and they are hard to see. You can see them in the picture because they are well lit. I assume I'll get used to them over time. The other waterproof, rubberized speaker I have suffers from the same issue. Maybe that's just the way it is with rubberized speakers. It's a very good Bluetooth speaker with a lot of power but the water resistance is questionable.

Unit sent was used BUT TAKEN CARE OF BY THOUSAND SHORES
05-05-17UPDATE**** THOUSAND SHORES TOOK CARE OF THE BIG A'S MESSUP******ALSO: now that i have a good one, be careful! TURN THE VOLUME DOWN BEFORE YOU PLAY SOMETHING FOR THE FIRST TIME....IT IS VERY LOUD AND CLEAR AS A BELL. I CLEAVER HAS DONE IT AGAIN.it sent was used. looks like someone tried to clean it but didnt do a good job. also the right speaker makes a scratching sound at 50% vol or higher.looks like the big "A" did it to me again.all sounds are accompanied with a metallic clanking sound, especially bass frequencies.the vol/pause buttons are under a rubber surface. makes it very difficult to see the switches. you have to look at it to find the location ofthe switch you want to use. they should have painted them white or something and/or make the switches more easily found.unit is very heavy. not what i would consider portable.
