Activities For the Under 1 Year Old and More Complex Tasks for an Older Toddler
The media could not be loaded. I was looking for a gift for my 7-month old grandson, and something that he could enjoy and play with now. However, I wanted a toy to challenge his cognitive ability, promote eye and hand coordination, and train his little fingers with some muscle flexibility. In addition, Stride and Ride Lion encourages his physical development to the next stage. Furthermore, since my older grandson is two-years old (almost 3), I hoped that this toy would be something that would enable them to play together. As a reference, since each child is a little different regarding various developments within different times, my 7-month old grandson is crawling and able to sit up on his own. At this time, he is attempting to pull himself in an upward position. I think it just might be a short time before he accomplishes this next advancement. He is ‘quick’ at reaching out, and his grasp is very firm (my longhaired dog can vouch for that) and we have to pry his hands open to remove the few dog hairs that pull out.ASSEMBLY:Although I ordered the ‘frustration-free’ package, the Stride & Ride came unassembled, however it was fast and easy to put together. The back seat snaps into place, and then it requires a Philips head screwdriver for the 11 included screws, which attach the wheels and the lion head securely to the unit. Both back wheels with their ‘hubs’ need attaching with 3 screws inserted into each one. Then, the two front wheels attach with their axles and only require 1 screw on each wheel to fasten to the unit. The lion head that provides the sounds, music, and flashing lights requires 3 screws to attach to the main unit. Therefore, it only takes the 11 INCLUDED screws to fasten the entire unit together, and this requires a Philips head screwdriver. The assembly took me less than 10 minutes to have it assembled and complete. The Stride & Ride Lion runs on 3 AA batteries (already included) and the battery compartment is on the back of the head. Although the batteries are for the sounds, music and flashing lights, this toy offers some modes of play without the use of batteries.FEATURES – WITHOUT THE USE OF BATTERIES:One simple game that the lion offers my grandchildren for easy recreation are the 3 included balls to drop down the lion’s mouth. The balls go through the chute and then come out at the bottom where ABC decals surround the opening at the bottom of the base. This easy task amuses my older two-year grandchild, and it is obvious how much his finger dexterity has improved from the year before.Along the bottom are two simple activities, one is the butterfly that has a single disk to flip. On the other side is a flower with petals that twirl. Within four petals are smooth round indentations for my grandson to revolve the petals using one finger, another form hand and eye coordination to revolve the petals with only one finger. The Stride & Ride Lion also promotes ‘leg coordination’. When the seat is in a flat position, it becomes a ‘scooter’ and operates strictly by the child’s leg power. However, in addition, the seat will raise, and the attached back handle provides a convenient pushing walker for balance, as the toddler starts walking.FEATURES WITH THE INCLUDED BATTERIES:The batteries in the lion’s head provide the music, sounds, lights, and educational instruction. There are 10 working numbered disks around the perimeter of the lion head, and when pressed they state their corresponding number. The lion’s nose is another lit button and when pressed it lights up the other disks and delivers songs, the ABC’s, a sneeze, a giggle, and simple phrases of encouragement.Currently, my 7-month grandson likes to push the lion’s nose so see the lights, and to hear the sounds and music. My older 2-year old grandson likes to show his brother how to put the balls down the lion’s mouth and watch as they come out through the chute at the bottom. In addition, he likes to ride the lion down our long hallway. The Stride & Ride Lion is much more than a riding toy. It offers simple entertaining activities for a child under one, and as my 7-month grandson attempts his first steps, the flat seat will raise to become a walker, which he can utilize to stabilize his balance.Furthermore, this toy offers complex tasks to promote finger dexterity along with eye and hand coordination for my older two-year grandson. Since he is now speaking in full sentences and partaking in short conversations, he joins in with the ABC’s and number counting songs. In addition, he loves this as an ‘in-house’ riding toy too.The Stride & Ride Lion is a perfect toy for my two grandsons to play together, with the older one showing his younger brother what to do.

Delightful toy to teach and entertain!
My one year old grandchild was delighted with this toy! So many things to keep a little one busy. It's a walker and a ride on toy. It plays music and lights up when a number is pressed. You "feed" the lion. It has many features to teach and entertain! We received it in record time and I'm very pleased with the overall purchasing experience of this item and from this seller.

Cute ride on
Got this for my 8 month old for Christmas. She is a little too young to use it as a ride on but she enjoys the lights and sounds and loves the balls. I haven't figured out how to raise the seat to use it as a walker yet. The seat snaps down and doesn't easily lift back up so we haven't been able to try that out yet. I'm sure the toy will get more use when baby is older and can ride on it.I got the frustration free packaging so everything was in a plain brown box. It was on and making noise inside the package before I opened it, not sure how that happened. It did require some assembly with screwdriver.

Our daughter loves this toy
We bought this toy to our daughter when she was almost 11 months old. It was the time that she was just starting to make her first steps. Immediately, she started pushing the lion and walking with him across the room. She is so happy when she plays with it. It is super interactive, has numbers that lights up and plays different songs. Really a fun toy. We are happy we bought this to her.

Versatile toy!
I purchased this toy because my 9 month old son is starting to pull himself up of things, and I just love how the lion is so versatile. He can sit on it to scoot around, he can sit in front of it to play with with light up numbers, nose, and moving mouth with the three colorful balls, he stands while holding on to the side of it, and as he starts to learn to walk, it easily coverts into a steady, sturdy walker. The price was great for the quality and fun this lion provides, and it was very easy to put together (and I am usually completely inept when it comes to assembling anything!).

The sounds and songs (there are 2 volume settings) are fun and cute
Baby LOVES this lion! It was a first birthday gift and she has been pushing it around for 2 months straight. The sounds and songs (there are 2 volume settings) are fun and cute, and not annoying at all. We sing them even when we're not playing with it. We've had friends with older children over to play, and even they love it, so it should be entertaining for baby for a long time.

BEST GIFT EVER!
Last minute find, I got this for my godson's 1st birthday. I couldn't quite find the right thing and then BAM, this popped up and I had my fingers crossed. I did not imagine how great this would be. HE LOVES IT! Both to ride, play with, and use as a walker. He wasn't walking very well at his first birthday party (still a little wobbly). The theme was JUNGLE so he walked in with this. It was the cutest thing ever. Strobe lights and his little lion glowing lights as he made his entrance. A great purchase and awesome price!

Kiddo loves it so far!
My LO is 7 months old, so a lot of the features like standing isn't being used yet. However he loves the light up mane and nose, and loves playing with the interactive little pieces on the lions legs/front. It is difficult to lift up the blue pieces for standing use, but that's probably to baby-proof it. Who knew it'd be parent-proof too 😂
