I got a general question. If I am getting a direct box... does it matter if the cables are balanced or unbalanced?

Looking to pass a stereo out from MacBook pro, through a volume pedal, to the di, and out stereo to the board. I play live through logic + mainstage.

I require 5 Passive stereo DI boxes - From 8 bucks to 300 bucks? Is there a reasonable quality and reasonable price you would reccomend for me ie a stereo Yamaha S90 Keyboard? I have one ProD2
