and bendable. The vendor describes this as being cast iron but it is extremely thin. I am telling you right now you won't believe how thin this so-called 'cast iron' wok is! It looks and feels a lot more like carbon steel than any cast iron I've ever seen, but carbon steel is actually less flexible than this item. And I've seen plenty. For example, the directions say to char onions, chives or any pungent (allium) based vegetable to get rid of the metal taste and this charring of the vegetables is the only way this wok develops the blackness on the bottom, and to push the onions or such up the sides to develop blackness there. See, these are not directions for a real cast iron pot or pan! With a real cast iron pot or pan you simply scrub it, dry it, lightly oil it and put it in the oven for a couple/few hours and it's black when it comes out! And the reason that real cast iron lasts so long is because real cast iron pots and pans are very thick therefore can be sanded down again and again and again and be used for decades. I don't see this so-called 'cast iron' wok lasting long at all. I put the wok in the sink and put water in it so I could gently scrub and this wok was literally bending! I'm not so sure this company is legit at all because a while back I purchased a mini wok but the wok wouldn't sit on a small or large electric coil burner without tipping over, it was completely unbalanced due to being handle heavy. I explained to these people that the mini wok was very dangerous because I had to stand there holding it with one hand and add oil with the other hand then wait for the oil to get hot. Then add food to the point where it had enough weight to make the mini wok stable and only then could I have free use of both of my hands, this is absurd. I purchased this 13" wok because this company said it was cast iron and because the mini wok I was dissatisfied that I had purchased earlier was carbon steel. And I get this pseudo-whatever thing this thing is. Anyway, I was very dissatisfied with this company and their product then and I am dissatisfied with this company and this product now. I will never do business with this company again. Had enough!

I've pretty much stopped counting how many of these woks I've bought for myself and to give as gifts to others or recommended to others ... particularly to young couples starting out furnishing their first kitchens. These woks are terrific ... follow the instructions for seasoning them and you have a beautiful, beautiful cooking vessel ... and it's cheap and it works far better than woks you could spend hundreds of dollars on. The Wok Shop is great ... It's probably one of the reasons I've stockpiled a number of these: if the Wok Shop went under, I don't know where I'd find comparable gifts. I guess it's up to Amazon to keep these good people solvent!

It's very thin and quite bendable, also you get metal in your food which is dangerous to your health. The customer service was poor as they request 3 days notice for a return, how are you supposed to properly try out the wok being you first have to season it and then use it, the kitchen tool is badly constructed as the handle comes off while you use it, the brush was the only good thing about this, quite a shame as they lost my business!

Bought this as a gift for my roommate & so far he has made SO many delicious meals in it. Easy to season & super easy to clean up after every meal. The spatula it comes with is like a mini shovel, perfect for scooping the deliciousness from wok to plate. Can't forget the fire ring that makes it all possible! Highly recommend this wok - cast iron is the way to go!

Couldn't find a quality hand hammered wok where I live, ordered this one and it's one I'll use for a long time. Take the time to season wok before cooking, wonderful directions by seller also followed up with email to make sure everything was clear in regards to preparing the wok for cooking. Will be telling my friends to buy this wok!

I am very happy with my wok. First of all it was really wok chic and it looks very cool. The wok arrived quickly and was not damaged and I absolutely would buy it again if I didn't already have one. This wok is big enough to cook a meal for six people. It looks just like the picture.

I bought this for a gift and OMG she was so happy with it. Fact tht its cast iron quality, not too heavy but does as expected as a true cast iron has made her so pleased and content with it!

Had to return. Lid handle was bigger than the lid. Quality co te must not exist.
