Just okay
The ironing plate does not glide smoothly and if any pressure is applied it wrinkles the fabric on the sides I do like the heft as I quilt and use cotton fabric.

Doesn't get hot enough for linen (only reaches about 350F)
This is my second attempt at getting a dry iron (the first was a Panasonic), and this is also the second time I've been disappointed with the max temperature. Unlike that other iron, and the reason for this review, is that the legend printed on this iron claims temp setting #6 is for Linen. Ideally, linen is ironed at 445F, a full 100F lower than the max temperature I measured from this iron. The temperature control was... loose. Again, at the max setting (#6), the temperature would fluctuate between 300F and 345F (ish). Basically, I could hear a relay engage (click noise) and the iron would heat for about 5 seconds before the relay would disengage (another click). The iron immediately starts to cool, dropping about 50F over about 20 seconds before the cycle repeats itself.Regarding safety, as near as I can tell, it doesn't shut off when not in use. Now this is a plus as far as I'm concerned, but others may disagree. It also has a grounded power cord, unlike the other iron I recently tried. So, if you aren't overly concerned about very wide temperature swings, nor fabrics that call for more than 350F, then maybe this dry iron is for you. For me, however, the very low maximum temperature was a deal breaker. There are also less expensive irons out there, which I'm sure perform at least as poorly as this one did for me.Finally, in case you were wondering, I made my temp measurements with a Fluke DMM+thermocouple, a Mastercool infrared thermometer, and a ThermoWorks Mk4... all with similar results.

Iron good
Doesn't get as hot as the iron it's replacing but it definitely does the job for sure. I ended up having to do a claim on the iron due to it falling the ground & the switch breaking off.

I wanted to like it
I quilt and typically use an antique iron but when I saw this one I thought I would give it a try. It's hard to find a dry heavy iron. This one heats up well and does have weight to it but the bottom, although looks smooth, feels rough when you're pushing it on the material. My antique iron glides across the fabric. I wonder if it might be because the bottom is aluminum. For that reason I sent it back. If they fix that aspect of it I would definitely purchase it for my iron collection.

Feels sturdy
I got this dry iron because my last one bit the dust, finally… I am a firm believer in irons lasting forever, and they simply don’t seem to do that. But this one feels sturdy so far. The rheostat has a nice crisp feel, and the cord comes off at angle so that if I set it upright the cord won’t immediately fray (something I had to repair on the last one). Other than that I won’t know how I feel about it until I wait another couple of years. This one has no auto shut-off which I LOVE.

Fell onto the floor and broke
I only had this iron for a short time when it fell from a low table to the floor and broke. I thought this would be a much sturdier iron due to its weight and build. But it stopped working immediately after falling. I will not be replacing this with the same brand. the hard part is finding an iron with a flat no, hole plate. The one really good part was how hot the plate got. I iron fabric for quilting, which made ironing much faster due to not having holes in the plate.

Has no auto shut off.
This is my second one. I burned the first one up by leaving it on overnight. Loved it so much that I bought another one. Nice and heavy and gets HOT. Heats up really fast, just remember to shut it off!__Update- The second iron died after 5 months and seller says it only has a one month warranty!! Great iron when it works, but doesn't last long.

Finally a useful quilting iron
This iron is for quilters who hate it when the iron cools itself down after a minute or so and then you have to shake it and wake it back up before you can use it again. This safety feature has been removed so you do have to be careful because the iron stays hot continually. But that’s also the great part of it. There also is no steam feature so no risk of water dripping on your work product. This is perfect for quilters but I would not be using it if I had small children running around who might knock the iron over onto themselves. That is the only real risk while using this iron. Just use common sense and be careful. I absolutely love it.

Wrinkles killer easily
I quit using steam irons in the end moldy water trapped in steam holes ruined my whites. This dry iron heats up fast and I use a spray bottle to dampen my clothes as I iron. It has various heat settings that actually work. Excellent quality iron. NO AUTO SHUT OFF ALWAYS TURN OFF AFTER USE.

Best plain old iron ever!
I often use stabilizer that "melts away" and so I wanted an iron that didn't have steam holes where the melted plastic stuff gets caught in the holes - impossible to clean. Also, when sewing, in particular applique where I'm going back and forth to iron pieces of fabric, I wanted an iron that didn't turn itself off ending my frustration. This iron is perfect for my needs - very happy with purchase.UPDATE Dec 2022: Iron stopped working. Worked in AM, dead in afternoon.

Heating Element lasted 8 months
The iron quit working last week and it was only 8 months old. Nowhere to talk to anyone about the warranty. While it lasted it was good but the heating element went out after 8 months

NOT GOOD FOR HTV. Won’t go over 130 degrees!
Since I was in a pinch I intended to use this iron as a placeholder for pressing HTV till I got my heat press in the mail. Unfortunately according to my infrared heat thermometer it won’t heat over 130 degrees even on the highest setting! I pulled out my mom’s old steam iron and it heats to at least 375, so I know the the thermometer isn’t the problem. It’s too bad I can’t just switch the platens out, because I really need to finish these projects. I hope none of these other reviewers are selling the items they’re making with it, even if your iron magically gets hot enough, the heat distribution is all over the place and it’s hottest at the tip and edges. I’m sending it back today. Don’t waste your time- you could spend twice this amount for a cheap heat press where at least you know it’s getting hot enough (maybe with some cold spots) and can apply consistent pressure to your projects.

Basic dry iron. Feels solid
I use this iron for sewing so I did not want the auto shutoff feature. Iron is always ready to go. Gets hot enough to iron cotton. Feels solid and nice in my hand. Very nice.
