Great value
I've played guitar for 20 years, and I've owned a lot of guitars. I've not played a resonator before, but I'm very familiar with the sound from recorded and live music. The guitar arrived very well packed. Not a scratch on it. However, one of the screens (which is purely cosmetic) got loose during shipping and fell out as soon as I turned the guitar over. No biggie, really, as I can pop it back in with hotmelt. After a few hours of fiddling, I was ready to record this low-cost guitar. I first recorded an acoustic track, and then used the large diaphragm condenser mic on the dobro. My playing is weak, but given enough takes I could stitch together something I liked. I'm really happy withe sound of this guitar, and very pleased with the quality for the price.

Freak Defect?
I got this dobro only one month ago and I loved it. Very nice sounding and easy to learn with. I am new to the dobro and I enjoyed working with this one. Unfortunately, this evening, my whole family heard a loud TWANG and saw all six strings fly forward. The dobro was just sitting on a table and was not being played at the time. On closer examination, I found that the metal plate at the bottom of the body had completely snapped off! It was only tuned to the standard open G tuning and wasn't under any stress... it just snapped! I am sad because I was fond of this particular instrument. I think I can return it, but I would rather go to a local shop to see if they can put a better stronger plate on it. My only concern is that if I had been playing it at the time, I think I might have been very hurt! I wear glasses, but I sure wouldn't want those strings near my eyes! I hope this was just a freak accident with my individual instrument. But I wanted to say something to others so they are aware. Perhaps change the plate as a preemptive step.

Is it true value?
I have a lot to say, so I will be brief in each comment:Pros:Inexpensive (maybe)AttractiveGood sound (maybe)Came well setupTuners, although cheap, seem to hold tuneFunctioning truss rodCons:Incorrect intonation of fret board due to incorrect nut vs. fret spacing requiring nut adjustment (this is not the same as the intonation between the nut and the saddle position)Incorrect alignment of soundwell support requiring major repair work-aroundIncorrect cone support lip width (too narrow resulting in the cone riding on the cone flange rather than the outside of the outer edge of the outside concentric ring)Damaged cone edge which made the cone barely usableIncorrect alignment of neck/cone cover/tailpiece due to incorrect positioning of soundwell holeNOTE: The glue used to construct the guitar body appeared to me to be some type of hot-melt type. I'm not sure how this will hold up over time.ConclusionsMy guitar was unplayable due to the intonation issue and buzzing which resulted from the above mentioned problems. I am a competent guitar tech/luthier and bought the guitar for the fun of repairing expected issues, and I was not disappointed. If I had paid to have these repairs done, I'm guessing it would have been in the $300-400 range. Not practical for a $200 guitar. It now plays well and sounds good, but if you can't do the repairs yourself and enjoy doing it, I don't see the value.

Speedy delivery, decent condition.
I received it sooner than expected, with regular shipping (I ordered it on Monday, and it arrived on Wednesday). The box it came in was a little crushed, so it was not exactly handled with extreme care. The guitar itself had some scuff marks on the cone, and it seems as though it might have been an older guitar polished to look new. However, it is in decent condition, plays well, and has a nice tone, though this is my first resonator guitar, so I do not have a prior experience with which I can compare it.Overall, a decent and satisfactory purchase, though I would hope the seller take better care of their shipments in the future.

Cool res guitar
My three star rating is more of a personal preference than a manufacturer defect. The guitar arrived in good condition and plays pretty well. This was a gift for my fiancee and it was definitely something that looks really cool in person, which pleased me. He has been complaining since he got it about a persistent buzz when playing the guitar. We looked it up online and some people seem to think that the buzz is part of the allure of a resonator, but it seems to be more than that. Honestly, for the money I think this guitar is a good value. If this is not going to be your primary instrument, I think you would be satisfied.

Great Value
I bought this guitar before I started playing Reso to hedge my bets. The guitar has proved to be a great value and plays and sounds great. I have since purchased a Gold Tone Paul beard model which sounds better than this instrument which it should at 4x the price. The highs are great and the lows a little soft and muddy but for what I paid I love it. It would slowly creep out of tune at first, however I filled the nut and used a little graphite and it now stays in tune. One last thing, upgrading the strings will really boost the tone of this instrument, I recommend doing it right away.

Unbelievable quality at a bargain!
Very nice looking, sounding, and playing resonator guitar! It is carefully packed, and when I opened the package, I was pleasantly surprised. I expected something of much lower quality and craftsmanship. I am a novice, yet I am sure that even a pro would be impressed with this!

Cheaply made! You get what you pay for.
Good price for product but made cheaply! Expect it not to be the best product out there! Came with scratches, chips, and comes out of tune easy.
