Best of

This is my favorite album by Roger Whittaker. Also, the vinyl sounds much better than the CD which was important to me. I had the CD version for many years and would take it with me when reviewing high end audio systems. While the CD version sounds decent, it lacked that final edge of clarity. When I put the vinyl on the turntable, the first thing I noticed was the entire soundstage opened up and separation of instruments became very distinct. It was just as easy to hear the background instruments as it was his voice and foreground instruments. It was a huge step in audio quality. Admittedly, this type of improvement is pretty normal when comparing vinyl to CD's.As for the music, I've been listening to this album for a very long long time and expect that I will continue to do so in the years to come. I'm a fan.

If you are a Roger Whittaker fan please know this album should be in your collection. If unaware of Roger Whittaker would urge you to sample his rich voice and retinue of music from around the world. I find his music superbly rendered engendering emotions little aroused by most ballad singers. Hear his " Durban Town" and "Morning Has Broken as a fine examples of his talent for weaving himself into his music.

Roger is gifted with one of the best sets of bass-baritone pipes, ever. However, his selections and styles are very similiar and predictable. So, after about the 5th song, you've heard it all. Regardless, his voice is so remarkable and mellow, that many will find themselves listening to him for hours.

We keep Roger Whittaker CDs in the car all the time. We love him and it sure beats the music on most stations.

I would consider buying other songs of his.

Great collection of songs.

Es scheint alles wichtige Englische drauf zu sein. Sehr gute Qualität, so dass seine Stimme sehr gut zur Geltung kommt. Sein Markenzeichen ist eine samtweiche Stimme mit perfektem, leicht swingendem, Rythmusgefühl, das an den richtigen Stellen stets wieder haargenau den Takt trifft. Richtig gut sind seine Balladen, weniger gut der Versuch bei den Schlagern Fuß zu fassen (Mamy-Blue). Egal.

Wenn man bedenkt, dass dieses Best of Album bereits 1983 entstand, wundert es nicht, dass sein 1986er Hit Syke Boat Song hier fehlt. Hier wird sich auf seine Glanzzeit konzentriert, und alle großen Hits sind vertreten. Anspieltipps: New world in the morning, I don`t believe in if, Morning please don`t come, River lady, Last farewell. leider gibt es hier mit mamy blue und Sunrise, sunset auch zwei wirkliche Graupen. reinhören sollten alle Easy Listening und Folk Rock Fans.

Sehr gut verpackt. Die LP ist qualitativ sehr gut. Ich sehe keinen Unterschied zu einer neuen LP.Bei diesem Verkäufer jederzeit wieder! 👍👍👍

Eben Roger Whittaker!

ich hatte ursprünglich 2 LPs von ihm darunter waren life Performances er ist ein brillianter humorvoller unterhalter, das leider bei seinen deutschen schnulzen nicht zum tragen kommt. es sind schöne texte und seine sanfte stimme ist unnachahmbar.ich wünschte es gäbe mehr von ihm zur Auswahl aber nur in englisch. ein muss für jeden fan.
