Don't drop it. The drop will break the tactile feedback feature and there is no way to repair it for the DIY'er ... I tried. Given how hefty (14 oz) the tamper is for its size, I was surprised that it is actually very delicate. ESPRO should provide cautions in their instructions of the delicate nature of the device. ESPRO used to offer repair services but no longer does so. This is pretty expensive compared to some other brands out there, but the measured pressure on this unit at the point of tactile feedback was right on the money at 30 lbs.

This is expensive.. | can't see how it should cost so much, but it worksYou will see several sites advising you to tamp at 30lb, and use a bathroom scale to train yourself, and I did, but its not easy to be consistent. And when you have 4 variables, your want to reduce them to one, which is the grind size. This tamper takes out the variable of tampingAll the articles state 30lb or 20-50lb, but they all stress on one thing more than this, and this is consistency.This means that the 30lb isn't your target, its a consistent 30lb or 35 lb or 40 lb pressureThis really works, it doesn't click, it just gives way at the required pressureIts also very solid and well madeMy espresso is a lot more consistent now that I've used it and I can focus on the beans, the grind and the temperature now

Sturdy and you can definitely feel the quality that has been put into this tamper. Highly recommend and very satisfied!

Update:The "click" stopped working after a few regular uses. This is extremely disappointing because for over $100, I now have a regular tamper. I do not recommend now and the company should correct this with their customers.

I love it, it feels great in the hand and it works amazingly well.my Espresso got improved from the first use.costly ..but worth it.

Using this product makes a big difference. My Cappuccino's are consistantly perfect. I will never make another Cappuccino without a Tamper.

This tamper is well made and does what it is supposed to do. I would recommend this to anyone needing a 57mm tamper. The calibrated tampers take the guess work out how much pressure to apply with a standard tamper.

Easy to use, pleasant to hold. Makes a satisfying click, helping you produce consistently pressed brews. Would've been better without a sticker on the top, it cuts into your palm for no good reason.
