This is a lovely product visually. I use similar products when knitting, especially when doing color work. I needed another and decided to go with something pretty. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work well as a yarn holder as it doesn’t spin on its base, like the others I have do.

It doesn't work the way it designed, it's too light, you pull yarn and yarn picks and lifts it. I hold it by my foot to keep it on the floor.I wouldn't recommend it.

Lots of complaints for me. The stick is thick, making it hard to put skeins on it, and I tried many. The hole doesn't really work, as the yarn is so tight around the stick that it just snags, and then you're stuck with your yarn in the hole and can't easily remove the yarn to use for another project. I've tried using it with both center pull and outer, and neither has worked well yet. I've used it on four different yarns so far.

I would have given this a 5 star rating because I wanted something like this for a long time and it is sturdy. The down side (aka 4 stars) that it wasn’t smooth especially at the top. My yarn would get caught and fray. Luckily, I can use sand paper.

The only thing I don't like is I didn't get one that spins. I ordered the one with a hole for the yarn and so far I haven't needed it.If you are driving, it is great to take along.This is a great tool especially for the Caron Cake and another brand's Mandela yarns. I haven't tried it on the "traditional" skeins of yarn yet.

Product design is good but not the hole the yarn glides through. It’s rough and needs to be sanded. The yarn snags really bad.

The stein stays where it is so the yarn wraps around the wood as you pull it. Very misleading descriptions.
