I set mine up by myself on concrete and it way very stable. I used two 2x4 sandwiched together. First I tried using 4x4 (3.5x3.5). 4x4 DO NOT WORK. Need two 2x4 sandwiched together (3x3.5). I used a rope and the pulley at the top of a ladder to pull up one end of the 2x4 poles. Only issue I had was I went up about 18 feet and midway up, before I attached the 2nd set of braces about miday, it was very wobbly. I'm retired and worked alone so I had the bench and tied myself off and felt very secure up 18 feet. I had to fix a hole in my fascia where a red squirrel was getting in. I would have had to hire both an exterminator and carpenter so I came out way ahead buying the pump jacks and DIY.

Good value
Good quality, but had a hard time lowering the jacks. I used older used 2x4’s to make the poles. So next time I will make the poles from new lumber and see if it works better. Make sure your poles are smooth and use nails that don’t go all the way through both 2x4s. Directions are ok but could be better.

Consider Werner Jacks
light weight steel construction, cheaply built, they go up but very hard to get them to go down with weight on jack arm and they sent an extra set of top roof brackets that are not needed
