Special Effects Hair Dye - Blue Mayhem #22 by Unknown

What can I say? It's my favorite blue hair dye. The color (on bleached hair) is a very intense inky blue that's at the same time dark and vibrant. It really catches the light. I get compliments from strangers all the time. You do need to handle it with care though: wash with cold water, don't shampoo very often, and for the love of God don't sleep on white pillows because this stuff will stain! If you treat it right it'll look freshly dyed for about two weeks, and still good for a few more before you'll want to reapply. Or you can let it fade into a kind of lavender hue that's not unattractive.

Bright color, fades nicely when it finally does manage to fade! Great longevity.

First of all, the packaging was very bad. Quite a bit was leaked. The smell is pretty strong which may give you a headache. It did not show up in my daughter's hair, it was just a slighty darker, but not even a tint of blue. It does stain your hands, it is pretty messy when washing your hair. I would not recommend this product at all!

I really like this hair dye because the color is really bright. And it absolutely does NOT fade as fast as manic panic. I love the way it fades. Its been 3 weeks since i've dyed it and right now my hair is purple with hints of blue and pink and a bit of the blonde:P I really like it , especially because it does NOT turn green! Haha.

For the money I spend on this product, it sucks! It only stayed in my hair (and yes my hair was bleached to get best results) for 2 days. VERY disappointed and it was a complete waste of my money. You're better off just purchasing the $6-$8 colored extensions from Hot Topic.

I had tried atomic pink in the past which I absolutely loved, but since I haven't been able to find that color lately, decided to do a pink to purple to blue fade, and I must say the blue lasted and looked great just like I expected

I didn't bleach out my natural dark hair - wasn't even needed! I put this in and waited for forty minutes or so and rinsed. The only bad thing -if there is one - would be your fingers might turn blue if not rinsed enough and the white sink just needs a decent wiping. My hair is this cool really dark blue with lighter shades from the grey hair. In dimly lit rooms it looks dark hair with a bit of a glow , in strong lite it blooms with all shades of blue and stays that way for a while. Also I used a blow dryer on it for five minutes or so till the top feels kind of crusty dry then when it cooled I rinsed - easy to do.

I love the color! and it seems to stay in to almost 4 weeks, since it fades to a nice purple you can let it go a few days if needed when its time to redo.
