DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT. I bought this particular brand because I thought I was doing something good for my Russian Toy. I applied as prescribed and noticed immediately that he didn't like it. Within 24 hours, the first layer of his skin had burnt off....yes, he had a horrible chemical burn in which I had to take him to the Vet ($85) just to get antibiotic burn ointment, they also had to shave his hair off (this is a champion show dog!). I would NEVER buy this product again. Called the company to complain and they seemed really complacent about the whole thing. Buyer beware.

This works well for our small terrier-mix 2 year old. The first few times, she went nuts, trying to rub it off and running around the house as if demons were chasing her. Now, she's getting used to the strong odor of the spicy application. Given that it's natural and she's not been plagued by fleas or ticks, I can't complain. In fact, I'm really glad we found this product. We continue to use it; but I have to admit, we open the windows for a bit after we apply it. Small price to pay for peace of mind, and she's worth it.

The Best! I've used this on all three of my little Boston terriers for 8 years! When my eldest dog was almost a year old and started on prescription flea treatment she became sick immediately. I stopped using prescription flea & tick treatment that day! I found natural defense and I love it ! Never has it caused them illness, its all natural and they have never had fleas or ticks. Its a strong clove smell and best applied close to the skin or it leaves a oil residue on coat that looks greasy, but if applied close to skin that wont happen. This is the best flea & tick treatment out there and all natural to boot!

I'm a professional pet groomer so I bathe my own dogs around once a week to keep them fresh. Due to this, it was always easiest for me to just use a flea shampoo to kill their fleas, but recently instead ofgetting10 fleas or less off of them per weekly bath, I was getting 20-40 so I had to do something! I don't likethe commercial flea medicine because of the chemicals(if I wouldn't put it on me then I don't expect to put it on my dog and still cuddle him at night) so this treatment was my answer. I skipped their weekly bath and put this on them two days ago. So far, THEY SMELL WONDERFUL- Butwiththecatch that they still have fleas that they now have to flea chew themselves about. I'm talking all day they're flexing themselves nottomentionthefact that I have to keep changing my sheets because the fleas are just jumping off in my bed!!! Will update review if it magically starts to work this week. The grease spot is horrible on my shop-poo. I applied as directed and the same way I've applied the frontline but as it ra nbetween his shoulder blades and his hair just fell over and greased up. Unimpressed.

When I put this on my little dog the smell of the spice was so overpowering. That I had to give her a bath to wash it off of her. I would not recommend this product if your animals are sensitive to harsh smells.

This product seemed to perform as advertised over our Minnesota summer. One of my dogs has little tolerance for chemicals so i tried Sentry Natural Defense. She tolerated this product well. My dogs are 'house dogs' and i noticed no scratching, nor did i find fleas or ticks in the house. I liked the natural ingredients vs chemical poisons for my pets. The fragrance was not unacceptable but not really what i would call 'pleasant' but it dissipated within about 36 hours. i recommend it.

I've used this on my German Shepherd who was outside A LOT and on my mini dachshund. I've never found an (attached) tick on either and no fleas. The only 'problem' (which I don't consider a problem) is the powder like dust that comes off of them for up to 48 hours after application. It doesn't stain or anything, its just like baby powder. Also, the smell is pretty strong for about a week. Smells like mint. Again, doesn't really bother me.

I bought the shampoo,spray and the spot flea and tick. They work very well and smell great
