South Shore Gloria Headboard with Lights Chocolate and Weathered Oak, Contemporary

Arrived on time and I was actually really surprised about how fast it was said to arrive. Like all the other reviews, crazy freaking heavy and you might need a second person to assemble. The instructions look confusing, but they're actually real easy to read (if you have someone that knows what they're doing (I am not said person haha)). There were minor cosmetic problems, but nothing that'll bring this review to 4 stars. I really was surprised about the quality of this head board and the lights are beautiful! I was skeptical because some of the reviews, but if you're good with instructions I'd say just get this dang monster.

Well packaged, arrived with no damage.No excess sawdust as was mentioned in another review.The instructions were simple, clear and to the point.Took one person 2~3 hours to assemble.Zero problems with assembly. This IS particle board, go slow, think about what you are doing, and it all works well.The current product has a single LED strip light, not two individual lights like pictured in reviews here, kinda bummed about that.EDIT - 8-14-19;Regarding the LED lighting setup, it is an incredibly bright and harsh white light, and where they have you mount the strip, you are pretty much looking straight up at the LED's when laying in the bed.The first night we used the new bed/headboard, it became immediately apparent that we had to switch out that light strip for something less harsh, and to re-locate the strip so that it was not pointing straight down on to the pillows.We picked up a Phillips Hue Light Strip, stuck it up in the same area as the included light strip was, but instead of mounting it pointing down, we mounted it pointing parallel with the bed, so the lights are not shining directly down into our eyes.THIS was a FANTASTIC upgrade to the headboard.At the very least they should set up the LED strip mounting so it is not pointing straight down, and really they should use a warmer color led strip then what they have included.

We spent a lot of time reading the reviews for the South Shore Head Board. We finally decided to purchase it on Amazon. The package arrived in 3 days which was pretty fast. Yes, the package was heavy. There was no noticeable damage in shipping. You will need a lot of room to spread all of the parts out and put together. Maybe 5' x 5' or a little more. It did take about an hour and half to assemble. The directions are a little confusing and I am very good at putting things together. Some of the pieces were marked others were not. Yes, it is all made of pressboard. Yes both of the light bulbs they sent were broken. Honestly, not sure why they even send the light bulbs seems like something the consumer would provide. I actually used LED bulbs and like the amount of light and low heat they put off. There was a small mark on the Grey wood area but, I'll live with it. it took two of us to put it in place on the king bed frame. Bolt for mounting were not included. Also needed to drill new holes to mount to frame. Not a big deal. I had one thin piece left over so I know I missed something, but like the looks of it. Seems solid does not make any noise which is important to us. I would probably buy again, I do really like the look and would have paid more for a little better construction. I done expect it to last forever but, it is good for now. .

If I could give this product a negative star rating I would! First of all this comes in a long awkward box that is extreamly heavy, even for two people!! But after finally getting the box in taking all the pieces out and laying them all down in order as the instructions show, we discovered that two pieces of the front finished panels were splitting on the edges and some of the finished part was chipped off! But we continued putting it together in hopes it wouldn’t be super noticeable. I shoulda thrown it away then, as it only got worse. The reviews made it sound like this bed was super sturdy and great quality.... not the case!! It’s cheap particle board, and it kept splitting when tightening screws and assembling it. The small dark wood panel that over laps the two off color backboards popped right off when trying to attach these boards the the end pieces! It ended up going back in the garage not finished because it looks so awful. Now I’m not sure what I should do with it because putting it back in the box and attempting to drag this heavy chunk of junk to a ups store would be another nightmare on its own!!! Save yourself some heartache/ headache and any other kind of ache you might endure from ordering this product and buy something else!

This bed is beautiful once put together. I saw a lot of reviews where the product arrived broken, damanged, or with missing pieces, but I guess we got really lucky! There was only 1 small chip on 1 piece that once put together is covered by the mattress. The rest came out of the box without any scratches and there was plenty of padding. It did take my husband and I about 2 hrs to complete with a 3 year old in the way. There are no words in the instructions so my advice is to pay attention to the very first instruction which shows you the way you will need to group each piece. The box was extremely heavy to take upstairs to the master bedroom but once put together the headboard was easy for us to move!! Great addition to our master bedroom! Lastly, the screws to attach the headboard to the bed frame are not included, but the headboard is heavy and sturdy enough to stand up on its own and our mattress/box springs/ frame were heavy enough to push up against it.

Many reviewers said it's hard to assemble. It's not. I'm a 5'3 female who does not go to gym and I managed the most part by myself just fine. You just need another person to hold it up when you put on the side bars and the top bar in place. Read the instructions before you go. Also read the markings on all parts making sure what you have in hand is the exact piece you want to work on. It looks great and it stands very well against the wall. It's the perfect solution for people who don't want to drill holes on their walls or whose bed frames don't have pre-drilled holes for headboards.

Nothing was labelled properly, the diagrams were HORRIBLE and if I didn't have my buddy to come help me with it, I would have given up and thrown it in the garbage!! I have been putting together IKEA furniture since 1999 and this is BY FAR sooooo much worse than IKEA!!This looks great when it's done but its a PAIN IN THE ARSE (I'm being nice when i say arse) and not worth the effort. Took about 3 solid hours to figure out which pieces were what and where they go. Also its difficult to assemble on the floor, you really need a huge elevated table if possible.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS HEADBOARD! Classy casual. My husband and I put it together on a Friday night. Was a quick assembly. My husband is in the trades industry and was impressed with how sturdy it was. I felt sorry for the delivery guy who delivered it right to our door. Was such a great purchase and the price was even better! LOVE IT!

3 pieces were scratched when we opened the box. Headboard is made with terrible locking screws, some of the screws didn't line up. My husband will be drilling other screws in to make it stronger. The headboard is gorgeous, its just too bad I had to fix the scratches with paint. It would cost a fortune to send it back it weighs 100lbs.

Very well constructed and sturdy. We bought this three months ago and just finished the renovation and constructed it. There were some minor snags with construction - needed longer bolts than supplied to attach to bed frame, but other than that, a good sturdy product.
