Worth it
This is my second Kavaj iPad case. My first case was wonderful. It mellowed beautifully and wore well. I had to upgrade my iPad to a Pro and the case holes no longer fit. I actually snipped up my case to accomadate the pro but that really wasn't a good idea. It worked but some of the reinforcing material inside the leather was exposed and bothered me. I like smooth edges.I chose this model (again) because I like the way the lid becomes a stand as well as the versatility of design. I can flip it and change the angle. I really like how stable it is even when it is on my lap or bed covers. My only wish is that this model also had a loop for my iPencil. I don't need pockets, I don't like bulk. This is streamlined and lightweight while still being strong and protective.I am a bit of a clutz and even though my iPad has been dropped a few times it is in great condition. When I took off the case the iPad still looked new.Another contributing factor to my choice of Kavaj is the leather. It is real leather, not that fakealoo pretend stuff. This smells and feels like the fine leather it is and will not crack or split. So now Kavaj, you can make a case Just Like this one but with a pencil loop, (no flippy latch thing!) and I will give this one to my hubs and buy the new model. You can name it The Oregon.

Looks twice as good at half the price
First off let me say that the other reviewers are spot on concerning the beauty of this case. Slim, beautiful, and yet very protective. Only one reason for not giving 5 stars. The case will not work with the Apple keyboard as the mating slot is covered. I will most likely get the pencil, but the keyboard is not on my shopping list so for me this was not a problem. Something to consider however if you have a 9.7 pro. Had this case for a week now and love it. I'll keep my four star review for the reasons listed, but I would buy this again in a second.

The best luxury, super fitting, super quality case I have ever seen. Works with the Apple keyboard.
6/24/2016 - I got a the Apple keyboard for my iPad 9.7 and it fits perfectly with the case. I included some pictures of what you need to do and how it all looks together. All you have to do is open the flap on the Kavaj case, line up the magnetic part of the keyboard, attach the keyboard, fold the flap with the keyboard cover, and slide the case back. It looks great and is fully functional. When you are done with the keyboard you just slide it out and reattach the flap (they don't fold together). You only need to open and then close the flap to use the keyboard! As many have stated this is a beautiful luxury case worth twice it's cost. It is perfectly fitted. I did the "stretch" trick at the power button and it made the case perfect. The case is snug and the cutouts and retention are perfect.I first started buying cases years ago with my iPad 2, when they were first released. I probably have 10 or more cases for it. When I decided to get a iPad 9.7 I wanted a luxury case. I tried a few but they left me wanting; a couple even had cardboard, I kid you not, cardboard, inside the lining! Then I got the KAVAJ. Wow! It is a sensual dream that fits perfectly. You will feel spoiled by the luxury of this case.I liked it so much I purchased a KAVAJ Dallas case, in matching Cognac brown (georgeous, BTW), for my iPhone 6s Plus. These cases are the absolute best cases I have every had the pleasure to buy. Sometimes I just reach out and feel the supple leather...mmmm.If you are worried about protection, don't. The stitching and construction are such that the seams fit around the corners in such a way I a certain a drop would be no problem.Do yourself or a loved one a favor and buy one or more of these beautiful cases.(I DO NOT receive and incentive for reviewing this case. This is my honest opinion. I would blast it if it was bad ;) )

Great case in the past, this version MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT.
I have this same case for my iPad Air 2 and has been great, was looking forward to this case for the iPad Pro. Received it today and the top piece that has the plastic outline was snapped broken on both sides and the leather was ripped on both sides as well. Have been of huge fan of Kavaj products, but this is a major disappointment, returning since it broken and unusable what a bummer.

Do not waste time and money
Very poor quality. Fit is not right. Too tight. I had to force my I Pad pro 9.7 in there. Very upsetting. Stitches not straight, leather looks bubbly on a back and feels like paper. Do not buy.

has perfect stitching, and flawless edge work
This is the first Kavaj case I have tried of the four, soon to be five different cases I have ordered for my iPad Pro 9.7; kavaj London https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0151M45PC/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0, kavaj hamburg https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0151MC7JS/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_14, torro https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DA86ZDE/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_13 and the Pad and Quill Oxford case. ( I will be trying the Tumi rotating case very soon). Of the two Kavaj cases I've had in my possession, both had slick or (in this case) grainy and slick surfaces. Moreover the leather used on this case was very thin. The rear camera on the new iPad Pro 9.7 protrudes a couple of mm's the leather used on this case was BARELY thick enough to prevent the camera from banging whatever surface it is laid on. Aside from the leather problems, this case is very well made. It is made with precision without loose threads, has perfect stitching, and flawless edge work. But I just didn't like the feel and thickness of the leather and would have constantly worried about the condition of the camera. Sent back for refund. Next, the Torro case.

Perfect “Hamburg” Kava case
Love my Kava leather case. Looks very smart and neat. Perfect fit for my iPad Pro and looks better the older it gets. Nice soft leather too.

Delighted with this case.
In searching for a durable case for my iPad Pro, I've looked at many cases and read many reviews. One reviewer likened the search for a good case to hunting for a unicorn. I'm tired of buying cases which look good but whose plastic parts became brittle and break in no time at all. The Kavaj Hamburg is not a cheap case but I'm delighted with it so far. It is nicely made with the cutouts in all the right places, the leather feels nice and the case isn't too bulky at all. It has no plastic parts to go brittle and break. I chose The Hamburg as it is so very adjustable in landscape mode. Like all cases, apart from the rotating sort, this case stands in landscape only, not portrait. The Kavaj website has excellent information and little videos about the different cases and how to use them. I found the info helpful. Time will tell how well this case will last but I'm very pleased with it so far.

Klasse !!!
