Rustproof, shockproof, and IP65 rated waterproof, the HL-85-HID-CPR is idea hunting, hiking, camping, security and military applications as well as for boating and marine use. Larson Electronics offers this light in both 7" and 5" reflector sizes. This light operates on 12 or 24 volts DC and includes a 16 foot coil cord with cigarette plug for connection to vehicles, boats ATV`s and similar vehicles. Combining a powerful 55W HID bulb and a specialized reflector and lens placement, the HL-85-HID-CPR handheld spotlight penetrates the darkness with 5,000 lumens of super bright light and a beam length of over 5,000 feet. The adjustable lens is offered in a 5" or 7" lens and is adjustable from spot to flood to provide flexibility in the field without having to carry multiple products. The unique shape and shallow contour of the reflector is paired with a convex lens and inset lens position to efficiently capture and project a focused beam of light while reducing the light spillage and waste that is common with many spotlights. This efficient design also reduces casting, a phenomenon that occurs when wasted light “spills” around the light source. Often times, when surrounded by water, snow or other reflective surfaces, this light spillage prevents the human eye from adjusting properly and seeing objects at distance. With the HL-85-HID-CPR spotlight configuration, 90% of the emitted light is captured and focused, clearly and sharply illuminating objects all the way to the end of the beam reach.

Poorly made, not exceptionally bright.
I bought this for use around a ranch and expected for $325 and an advertised 5,000 lumen light that it would be fairly well made and bright. That was definitely not the case.- The housing is bulky and cheap feeling. The "focus" mechanism is just threading the reflector housing in and out, making it looser and wobbly the wider you try to focus the beam. Their solution to this is a flimsy little tab that is supposed to put pressure on the housing to keep it from rotating from the setting you put it on. But that just flat out doesn't work. So the only secure focal setting is to screw it in all the way at the tightest beam setting.- The design of the bulb and housing leaves a big shadow in the beam from 7:00 - 8:30. - The beam shape is horrible. It center of the spot isn't even close to a circle. More like 3 lines going in random directions. However, it does have a wide flood/spill, so you can see a lot around the spot.- The on/off switch fell out of the housing within the first use. Again, cheaply made and poorly designed.- Lastly, its just not that bright. You can see maybe 350 yards with this light. We also use the LED Go-Lights and they are way brighter and throw almost twice as far.I think that sums up everything that absolutely sucks about this light. Especially for it being $325.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT
The light failed after only about 3 hrs of use. The plugh would make the light flicker making it useless for the task. I would strongly encourage you to purchase anything other than this. Unfortunately I had to modify the item in the field to make it work a bit longer which voided the worranty and the company is unwilling to work with me. Stay away from this product

Poorly made light
Had to return it to have the switch replaced. Very cheaply made. After returning it and having it repaired, the light only worked for a couple of weeks. Do not buy!! Not very bright either. The $40 Amazon spotlight is brighter and they still are working after 5 years of use!!!
