NLP
The material in this book might not be entirely new to some people, but it can help. As Sayre says, the book is about doing and making positive changes in your life. I found the examples in the book practical and they've empowered me to overcome some difficult emotions. I feel confident being confident and his perpective as a "former shy guy" rang true and helped me connect with the material. This book has changed that way I interact with the people around me and I feel like it's let me be the person I've always wanted to be.Update: Although the principles in this book are helpful and good to know, I feel that the most complete way to increase confidence is to get to the root of the issue. This book can help you do just that:Β Self-Esteem: A Proven Program of Cognitive Techniques for Assessing, Improving, and Maintaining Your Self-Esteem

Some gems but a lot of fluff to sift through
Worth reading for the valuable advice, but I felt I had to do a lot of skim reading to get past the airy-fairy stuff.I found the first half of the book most useful, but then the author started talking about his 20 tricks, which were mostly NLP techniques (visualisation, imagination etc). IF NLP works for you, then this book could be even more powerful.Beware the book talks about confidence mostly from a social perspective. If you are looking for confidence in other areas of your life, this book may dissapoint.

excellent book!
I got this from the library first and read part of it and just knew I needed to own it. I have not yet finished reading it as I had a couple of others ahead of it, but hope to get to it very soon now. I am very interested in the whole NLP topic and am reading up on it as fast as I can. Kent Sayre seems to have an excellent grasp of this topic. I also highly recommend books on NLP by Richard Bandler. Anthony Robbins also has some useful things to say about it, but with his I can't say where to look for it just now, it seems to be rather spread out. Anyway, I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in personal growth and development, and willing to do the work.

If you're twelve and shy, this book may have been written for you.
I'm very puzzled by the somewhat positive feedback on this book. Unstoppable Confidence MAY be good for a teenager who's still trying to figure things out in life, or for someone trying to reaffirm himself or herself about their beliefs on whether they're on the right path towards confidence. I can also see this book being helpful for someone who completely doesn't understand the point of confidence, and what exactly this is. However, if you're an adult and you know the definition of 'confidence,' it's very likely this book will be worthless to you. Here's why:- Most of the content is common sense, things everybody already knows- The author makes a ton of false claims and goes with them as if they are true- A lot of rehashed content from other books, absolutely nothing new- ZERO evidence, facts, references as to where the data has been taken from- Very poorly written; needs an editor's eye, and reads like a crappy blog- Assumptions, assumptions, assumptions! Author just makes stuff up on the spot- The author sees the "confidence problem" only as a black and white issue, and thus occasionally gives a wrong advice altogether. There are many such instances, but here's one example: the author equates quick decision making with confidence and something that everybody should be doing. That's a wrong advice. There are people - whether confident or not - who simply have stronger cognitive skills and are more analytical in their decision making; they will have to spend time on a decision because they see more factors affecting this decision, and more potential outcomes from that decision than others would. They assess the situation better and more accurately. That's not a bad thing; it's quite the opposite. Quick decision making isn't an essential tool in one's "Confidence Toolbox." Sometimes it's needed, and other times you want to avoid it. The answer is: IT DEPENDS. Nothing is that black and white, Mr Sayre.Overall, I will give it 2 stars because it may serve as a good reminder for some, or a good introduction to confidence for the completely clueless people, but it lacks originality and simply isn't very useful at all. The book is clearly written by someone who either has a poor understanding of the subject matter, or is terrible at delivering that information, because most of it simply [poorly] rehashed content in the author's own words.

Useful Way to Use the Power of NLP
I found that Unstoppable Confidence was the first book that took the complex NLP techniques and made them simple and useful in accomplishing confidence. The book not only gave me real life examples but also gave me simple exercises that I used and after 7-10 days of practice increased my confidence tremendously. If you are willing to put the work in like I did, then it's a must have for your NLP library.

I like it
I read this book months ago and I still find myself using its suggestions. It helps you realize when you are putting yourself down and/or if you are using language that is not confident (would, should, could). I catch myself and try to change to a more confident answer, etc. I highly recommend this book. Months later, I am still practicing its suggestions.

Worth It
I found this book to start a little heavy and slow but the end results speak for themselves! I just wanted to thank the author for my new and improved self esteem, and I'm excited to see how this improves my career and social life! Thanks Kent Sayre! I don't understand why more people aren't talking about NLP.

Really useful - well written and very helpful. Much more down to earth, usable and logical than others around, and already feel like the techniques are helping!
