Failed after two years
I bought this shredder on June 7, 2020. Today is September 10, 2022. It recently started to jam frequently when feeding only two sheets of paper. Then pieces of plastic started coming out with the shredded paper. At this point, it no longer creates micro-cut shreds. Instead it creates unshredded chunks of paper with an impression of the blades pressed into them. For the first time in many years, I am saying goodbye to Fellowes and will try a different brand.

Shredding Amazon boxes
We bought this to shred our amazon boxes and then buy them in the compost. We can’t do a lot at once or you the motor starts to smell. So I can do about 3 boxes a day and we have not had any problems with it.

Broken, Cheap Castor on a Fellowes 46ms Shredder
The shredder arrived with a broken castor. The castor is cheap plastic. Then Fellowes wants a receipt that will take an undetermined amount of time to process before they decide if they will replace their cheap plastic castor. For a shredder that cost hundreds of dollars, the castor should not be cheap and broken coming out of the box. Fellowes should be bending over backward like Gumby trying to replace a cheap plastic castor rather than being difficult. Spend your money elsewhere and avoid buying Fellowes.

I like it, however
Overall, I like it, however, my older micro-cut shredder rated at P-5 security level cuts smaller so I am puzzled as to why this 46Ms is also classified at P-5 security level. So far-so good-it is a workhorse and a keeper.

it literally shreds in bits
One of the quietest shredders we have purchased. We have more than one in the office. Looks professional and definitely as to functionality, the shred is almost a bits of papers, very impressed. Highly recommended to buy.
