Extraordinary Value and Challenging to Tune
Exceptional value, beautiful workmanship.Fun to learn, play; arrived early.The problem for me as a beginner:1) There was no manuals in the dulcimer on how to tune it.2) It arrived un-tuned.3) You-tube videos, when they existed, were contradictory about how to tune it and were very hard to follow - being in Persian with subtitles and brief.4) Trying to use my tuner was also not fully clear - the youtube videos did not explain how to set it up for a hammered dulcimer.My solution after it did not sound beautiful after an hour of trying to copy youtube videos was simple: Tune each set of strings so that it sounded beautiful to my ear. Then tune the next set of strings so that it sounded beautiful right after the last set of strings was played in a harmony. Proceed forward. In this way I had fun, had it tuned beautifully to my ear and has led me to be able to start playing with plucking and hammers alternating in a way that is enjoyable.
