Square eggs why?
Family chef wanted because he is experimenting with Japanese mukimono where food is cut and arranged in elaborate, beautiful, or interesting ways. Ordered 3 types of these molds thru Amazon from different sellers. This one not as easy to use as clear plastic one, "egg cuber square egg press"' although it works just fine. Third press ordered has yet to arrive.

Very Easy to Use and So Cute
First of all, these are BPA free and food safe per the back of the package. I couldn't tell before purchasing them, but bought them so I could see for myself. Safety first you know.So after getting the green light for safety, I tried them out straight away. I followed the simple directions on the back and voila, little mostly square edged eggs came out. I used large eggs, but they weren't the largest eggs in the container, so they didn't fully turn into a rectangular prism (they had rounded edges where the egg didn't fill it fully), but overall it worked very well. If I want a perfect shape, I'd have to use larger eggs, and the edges would get cut off as I put the egg into the container so part of the egg white would be lost. I prefer not to lose part of my eggs to get a perfect presentation for a regular lunch, so I am happy I didn't use larger eggs. Overall, the cooked eggs are adorable to put into a lunchbox and I will definitely keep using them. (BTW, you cook the eggs in their shell and peel them while hot/very warm and stuff them into these containers and then refrigerate them or put them in cold water to get them to take shape. You do NOT cook the eggs in these.)

Kind of cool.
Simple, but ok. Decent quality. A neat item to make meals more fun. Eggs make every meal so much better.

Cute and functional
I used it just once to shape hard boiled eggs. After that I used them for small portions of other snacks (craisins, trail mix, etc). This along with the other monbento products I bought proved indispensable in packing healthy low sodium snacks for my family member with heart problems for our day trips at Disney.

Haven't quite gotten the hang of it yet
As large eggs are a bit too small and xlarge are just a bit too big...BUT! The shape makes them easier to pack regardless, and who doesn't love a labeled egg?

My kids are 13 now, so I no longer ...
My kids are 13 now, so I no longer pack them the silly (healthy) bento-style lunches that got me started using egg molds years ago. Oddly, though, we do still use the egg molds when we hard-boil eggs. Well, I use the flower molds more than the fish and car molds now. Anyway, I picked up these square molds thinking they would be used for eggs in MY lunch, but I notice dear son is most likely to stick those square eggs in his lunches. LOL

Fun food product, but much more practice needed.
Not as easy or perfect as shown in the photos. Definitely a fun food product.

Fun but a bit pointless
They make your eggs square. I think the only reason i make these now is to confuse people at work.

kawaii
So kawaii! Only use medium or small eggs, though: the large ones overflowed a bit.
