My daughter LOVES this chair
So, I do need to begin with some caveats about this seat: 1) It is designed for children ages 3 and up to start with. My daughter is not quite 3. However, she EXCEEDS all of the weight and height requirements by a long shot, and after reviewing it with a car seat safety specialist and our pediatrician, we were given the thumbs up. 2) Think of it as an adapter to make a regular lap/shoulder belt fit a child properly. IT does not lock in or anchor to the car. It makes sure that the lap belt sits on the child's thighs, that the shoulder belt fits properly across the chest and not against the neck or head. That being said, my daughter absolutely loves it, and so far we have been very pleased. We have purchased Combi infant car seats before, and have been pleased with the quality, the design, the colors, and the compact package. The Combi Coccoro was the only infant carseat we could place in my wife's VW Beetle, and still allow legroom for adults in the front (we're both 5'11"). Our daughter is now 40 lbs and 38" tall, and had outgrown her infant seat, so it was time to upgrade.Cons:Going back to the original caveats: I would not recommend this carseat for immature children. It may not work for you. Because you don't have the 5-Point harness, unless your child will obediently keep the shoulder strap in place, then it may not work for you and your child.Pros:Pretty much everything. It is slim, lightweight, easy to get in and out, easy to buckle, it stays wonderfully cool to the touch (no sweaty pants after three hour car rides), it is very high quality and nothing on it feels "cheap" (I have felt that way about all Combi products). Added plus - if you have economical cars (like we do), it fits so much better. We can easily move it from one car to another, and within seconds adapt it so it fits properly for grandma and grandpa's car.We originally purchase the Graco Nautilus, and it's just night and day. The Nautilus is fine, but it's bulky, expensive, and the buckles are an absolute PAIN. Getting it in and out was impossible, so it was basically anchored in. I can get two Combi Kobuks for less than the price of the Nautilus. It got sent back to Target. It does have a tether, 5-point harness, etc. - which exceeds above and beyond the requirements for kids that age. I can understand this is a deeply divided topic, and I don't want to come up like I am willing to compromise safety. But, my child was ultimately uncomfortable in the Nautilus, didn't want to sit in it, and the buckle sat so close back, it rammed right into her crotch and made her unhappy to the point of kicking, crying and screaming. It has some design flaws we just could not get past.If you have anxieties about your carseat needing the 5-point harness, tether, etc. - and your kid needs to be anchored in, the Kobuk is probably not for you.Just to share how adorable my daughter is - after it arrived, she was very excited about opening the box, and after we installed it and test drove it around, she was very happy with it. The next day, she went with my wife to the store and announced that "I LOVE my big car seat, daddy made it from a box."

Not perfect, but great for smaller kids.
I've used this for a few weeks. I'm switching back to my First Years TrueFit for a while because my son won't keep the shoulder belt on, but will try this again later when he's better about staying in his seat belt.1. Shipping - I ordered this with Prime Shipping. It was shipped via FedEx with whom I have not had good experiences. Sure enough, come 8:00pm on the expected delivery day, it was nowhere to be seen. Amazon's tracking projected its arrival as on time. FedEx projected its arrival for the next day. Since I ordered this for a trip, it caused me to change my travel plans. Really disappointed there. Don't promise 2-day shipping if you can't deliver.2. Packaging - when I did receive it, the box was banged up and split open along at least one corner. This was partly due to it not being a very thick box and partly due to FedEx's less than stellar handling. As far as I can tell the seat itself was not damaged.3. Installation - this is a piece of cake to install and buckle your child into. The back does separate from the base very easily, so you have to be careful when installing/removing.4. Design - I agree with previous reviewers that an adjustable belt positioning loop would be nice. However, the loop as is fits my smaller-than-average 4 year old quite well. One of the reasons I chose this seat was its height & weight range combined with safety ratings compared to other high back boosters. The cup holder could use some work. As others have described, it sits rather far out from the seat and doesn't really snap into place (at least mine doesn't). The interior of the cup is also shaped in such a way that wider base water bottles like the Camelbak Eddy don't sit upright in the holder.

Slim, well designed, comfortable
We purchased two of these booster seats in order toaccomodate the 3rd booster in our small station wagon. We did tons of research and came to this one based onits slim and smart base design without comporomisingon the comfort and head support. The features we love:* The base is small and narrow enough to accomodate 3rd booster.* The base is a home base shape which has a cut on both cornersallowing an easy seat belt access even if there is another booster right agaist it.* Accomodates slimmer kids well---starting from 33lbs and up vs typicall 40lbs and upwith other boosters.* the argonomic design that molds into a kid's body rather than swimming in it.* The Head support catches sleeping kids head perfectly---no more sore neck after a nap in a car.* Very light weight to carry* Our kids loved it instantly because it is really comfortable!* the red seat belt guides keep seat belts in place. Kids can operate their seat belt independently.(We bought 3" seat belt extender to make it even more easier for our 4 year old to do his seat belt)* The price is reasobale for the quality.* The removable cup holder that can be placed on either side.Features we don't love:* No latch system (it stays in place really well for not having a latch though)* The cup holder is bulky and sticking out too much (we usually remove them when there is a 3 child in the middle)* There is no locking mechanism to keep the base and the body together (when carrying it, the body and the base getdisconnected easily)We feel we found the booster that we were looking for and very happyabout the quality and the look. Most of all, our kids gave a two thumbs upon the first day---which means 5 stars for us!
