Works great for me
Holy moly people hate this thing. I purchased one based on ATK's recommendation and have been using it for a year now and it works great. I don't count how many times I pump it. I just pump it until I start to feel a little resistance and then spray away. The spray doesn't last too longer before needing to be pumped again, but I can't stand how expensive PAM is. This thing saves me a fortune. I wonder if anyone has experimented with adding lecithin to prevent beading of the oil. I am tempted to try it, but I don't want to ruin a good thing.

Okay, but will never replace an aerosol can.
Owned this mister for about 6 months now. This is my first non aerosol oil spray I've bought and probably the last. I bought this mister based on a cooks illustrated review, stating that this had the best spraying mist and overall longest spray. That being said, this spray probably lasts about 6 sec max with the pressure and amount of oil being sprayed reducing every second and the spray itself is soooo fine that, like other reviews have stated, half of it gets on your pan and the other half floats around in the air and inevitably coats your walls, countertop, hoodvent, etc.. I've found this sprayer is good for coating a small or medium sized pan but when I try to coat my large 12" cast iron skillet, I have to pump the sprayer twice to get the pan fully coated.I learned that the tighter I can screw on the top, the more pressure I can create with the pump. However, the top is created with lightweight plastic so I have to be careful not to tighten it too much or I will break/crack the screw top. Underneath the screw top is a plastic o-ring whose function is to seal in the air to create the pressure when pumping the pump. I thought this product would work better if perhaps a rubber o-ring is used to create a better airt tight seal. As of now, after a certain number of pumps, I can actually hear the air leaking from the canister with any succeedding pumps.Okay product, good for small applications of oil. I find myself now owning both this sprayer and an aerosol can for larger needs.

Does not work well at all
I should have listened to the reviews and not purchased this item. It sprays water just fine, but when I tried olive oil in it, it barely sprays anything out, not even enough to grease a pan. It is mostly a fine mist that I breathe in and doesn't coat the pan. I have tried EVERYTHING to get it to spray better and nothing has worked. It is not worth the money at all.

Not recommended -- clogs too easily and fizzles out too quickly
After a few uses, mine stopped misting and would only spit. Maybe it's just clogged. I don't have time to laboriously unclog it after every few seconds of use, so I abandoned it and bought another one. With 15 pumps, this second one mists vigorously for only 3 or 4 seconds, according to an electronic stopwatch. After that, it sputters uselessly for another five or six seconds to complete exhaustion. Pumping it 50 times extends the useful spray time to only about 5 to 7 seconds. That's not long enough to make it practical for coating trays of vegetables for grilling or roasting, even if it doesn't have to be cleaned frequently. For coating pans, I'm going back to drizzling a bit of oil on the pan and spreading it around manually. For coating vegetables for roasting, I'm going back to using a brush or simply my bare hands.

great product, but think twice before you throw away the PAM
It's a good mister that does deliver what it promises, fine oil mist for some effort. It actually delivers an extremely fine spray, far finer than any aerosol can I have ever bought does. But I would say that I was indeed disappointed in the amount of spray that results from your effort. Other reviewers have commented on this already, so there is no need for me to elaborate. I did find it did interrupt my workflow a bit, having to pump after 1/4-1/2 seconds worth of spray. It was difficult not to think of the convenience of the canned aerosol sprays. So, there is not flaw with the product itself, I do think I will save money in the long run since I don't have to buy PAM anymore. But I am writing to caution potential buyers that there will be a "learning curve" and time cost with purchasing this product since you will have to fill and pump, and pump, and pump some more, the oil yourself in order to achieve the spray. But if you are willing to put in the time and effort, or you really want advantage of having your own pure oils to be misted, this product is for you!

Works well for me now.
This sprayer works fine as is, but on mine I shortened the feed tube and wow it's awesome now! Here's what I did, unscrew the top and remove the feed tube assembly. On the bottom is the little white intake portion, gently twist and pull to remove that white piece. Once it's removed use a sharp knife or very sharp kitchen shears to removed about 5/8ths of an inch of the clear tube. I had to do this in two pieces but once I was don't I put the white piece back on and out it back together. Now the white piece rests on the bottom of the bottle rather then the side. Doing so increased the amount of oil that sprays, vs a cloud of oil vapor on the air. I also found that once pumped up if you spray in short 1-2 second blasts it will hold pressure to do so 4-6 times! I have thrown all my aerosol oils in the trash, and plan on ordering a couple more of these to label for different oils and vinegars.

Meh...
We had an oil mister asks wanted to see if we could find something better. This isn't it. You have to pump a lot and really not that much comes out. Our current model is better. It isn't terrible which is why I am giving it five stars but I wouldn't buy it again

Cholesterol busting oil mister.....
This works very well. A few tips that I learned along the way. 1. Unscrew the lid after each use to release the air. 2. Never fill beyond the fill line, in fact, it is better to go a bit below. 3. Wipe down the nozzle after each use. This spray bottle works very well if you tend to these few little tips.

Exceptional way of controlling oil.
Quite why I had to purchase an item made in France from US beggars belief. Despite that, it came very quickly. I had read some reviews before buying and was, therefore, neither disappointed, nor surprised to find a paucity of instructions. It takes a few minutes to prime the pump and once done, here is a tip: you don't have to press the pump all the way down, in fact, don't do that unless you want a stream. Simply pump it until you feel resistance build, then stop.It is an exceptional device and does everything I expect. So I can cook with argan oil, using only enough to do the job.The only thing I can't comment upon is cleaning – that task is several weeks down the line.

Disappointing.
Like other oil misters that I have tried, it did not work for long.

Neither of my 2 worked
Dreadful product. Bought 2, - 1 never worked at all, and the other stopped working shortly afterwards.

Would not buy again.
Not great. But this one is way more messy to deal with than my last spritzer. Oil gets into the while tube and you have to constantly dump it out and it causes the lid to get oil on it making a mess where you put it down. I would not buy this one again.
