Works Great
I've been using this pedometer everyday for the past 7 years and it has worked fine for what I need it to do and that is count steps. I wear it all day everyday and I average about 25,000 steps per day. They usually last me about 8-12 months each and they get a workout with me. The nice thing is, is if they stop working or the clip breaks within a year you get a replacement for free from the manufacturer (minus the shipping costs). Not too bulky and the clip keeps it attached very well. Would recommend.

Reviews were good until I bought it.
I bought this pedometer when the ratings for it were 5 stars! Now there are all kinds of bad reviews starting in 2007. Too bad I bought it in December. This is a piece of junk. I thought I was ordering a mid-priced pedometer. (It was $12 at that time). I agree about it not staying on, and even though I followed the calibration instructions, the steps were never accurate. I had an additional problem in that parts of the numbers were missing on the LCD most of the time. So is a backwards three actually an eight, was that a one or a seven, is that 5000 or 6000? I never knew. The only time all the lines displayed making perfect numbers was when you cleared it to 0000. I'll probably try a 'cheapy' from Walmart. It will probably do better than this.

Accurate and takes up minimal space **NOW 2 STARS**
I read some of the previous reviews and do agree with some. Yes it does easily fall off, but I found it was more likely to do so when I was wearing jeans with a belt. It has never fallen off while wearing my workout clothes. I am however very aware of it though throughout the day because I don't want it falling off. I find it to be VERY accurate. My walking partner has a completely different (and very cumbersome) pedometer that was within a few steps of mine after we walked together one morning. The exposed faceplate has never been an issue. It's never reset itself even with curious kids checking my steps throughout the day. The ONLY reason I am on my second pedometer is because my dog ate the first one! REALLY, I'm not making that one up! I went out and replaced it that day.UPDATE - I HAVE CHANGED MY OPINION TO A 2 STAR RATING. THERE IS NO ON/OFF SWITCH ON THE PEDOMETER SO YOU WILL BLOW THROUGH BATTERIES ON THIS PEDOMETER WHICH SORT OF OFF SETS THE COST SAVINGS ON BUYING AN INEXPENSIVE PRODUCT.

my third Sportline 340 pedometer
This is the third time I purchased this same model pedometer. Each of the first two worked fine, they were easy to set up and use, they seemed to give accurate readings, the trim contours of it did not appear to be a bulky mass on my belt, and the price was reasonable. It is those features that brought me back the second and third time; however, the belt clip on the first two broke after about 5 or 6 months of daily use. When the clip was working, it held firmly to my belt, which I have read to be a problem with other models. But after the clip broke, the whole item was worthless. I keep hoping Sportline will improve the integrity of the clip, but if not, my third time will be my last. If you want a good pedometer for 6 months of daily use, or perhaps will not be using it on a daily basis, then I could recommend this model. If you want it to last longer, then I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Easy to Use Pedometer
I recommend getting a pedometer. This one works fine, once you get the calculation right. I'm lucky enough to have a treadmill. So I could adjust the distance per step by checking it on the treadmill. Once you start wearing the pedometer, you get hooked on making sure you get your daily mileage in. My doctor asked that I walk 4 miles a day. So when I get home from work, if I haven't done the 4, I go out and walk my neighborhood route or get on the treadmill for one more mile.

thought it would be better than it is...
I am on something like my 5th pedometer and until recently, I didn't want to invest a lot in one. I bought this because I thought it looked cool and was a great price. It fell off constantly! For a few days I would pin it to my pants but that was time comsuming and annoying, not to mention painful when the pin stuck me! It is fairly accurate, but who cares if you are always worried about it popping off and falling to the floor? I finally invested in an Omron that not only stays on, but has a security latch you can attach to your clothing in case it does come off it will not fall to the ground. I also bought it on Amazon, but it was around $18.99. It stores a week's worth of steps for you so you can track your progress. I am in love with my new pedometer, I wish I would have invested in this one first!

I give this pedometer 5 stars! Excellent!
This pedometer works really great! The numbers are legible and the button to start back to zero is hard enough to push that it doesn't accidentally jump back to zero when you don't want it to. I'm extremely pleased!

acquisto sbagliato.
..Inaffidabile.Più usato.

Good design
This is a first-class unit in its class. As well as doing its job, its clip-on feature is well-designed. At the moment, the pedometer is fastened to my right shoe. Three days gym activity has not disturbed it.

Hardly notice it
So far this has proven to be an excellent buy. You do need to measure your stride at first but that wasn't much hassle - take ten steps, measure, divide by ten! Done! The machine can be set to measure steps or distance (miles or kilometres) and it's really easy to reset of a morning - one button. It's small - sits on your waistband without being noticeable either in size or weight. One problem - if you have a bit of a tummy (Ok ok I admit to more than a bit of a tummy! Why else would I buy a pedometer?!) and you bend over - say to tie your trainers ready for your walk - then you might find your tummy knocks it off your waistband. Or maybe that's just me!Anyway - solved that issue by clipping it to my pocket... tummy isn't that big!I like this - cheap and does the job.

Not as great as I hoped
Not as great as I hoped, but probably get what you pay for. Doesn't EVER turn off. Doesn't counts steps, though I've tried it on numerous places (belt, belt loop, pocket etc.) All I wanted was to monitor my daily steps to get to 10,000, but even after a half hour walk it says I've walked 200 steps. Not worth the money.
