Slightly smaller inside than you'd expect
I'm a huge Pelican fan, and this case doesn't disappoint at all.The thickness of the walls means you lose about an inch of interior dimension compared to a traditional suitcase of the same exterior measurements. But since you no longer have to pad stuff to keep it from getting crushed, you get some of that space back once you get used to the idea.

Awesome! but scratches easily.
Great case, I too tested it in a pool, its sealed tight! Lighter than the other Pelicans of the same size. Because the handle poles are so far apart, you get more interior space but you cannot use backpacks or attaches that slide into normal handle poles. My beef is with the bottom panel, when you're rolling, there's no protection to the the bottom panel. It will scratch bad on your first trip, everything else was well thought of except that. Seems like an overlooked detail by Pelican.

Break-a-way compnents on your Pelican Roller, Its just a case.
I would like to start out saying that the case itself is great. However using it as a roll allong or roller board sucks! After just 6 weeks the bearings in the wheels seized up, the strap handle on the bottom kept catching in everything it could while being rolled along the ground, eventualy being torn off. Just shy of 8 months the hanle broke clean off revealing just how weak it actually is.I submitted a warranty claim with Pelican, they have charged me 15 USD for postage and have not heard a thing from them since.I have had to revert to my 20 YEAR OLD Luggage Works roller bag (in the background of a picture) and has NEVER failed me and it has seen service all around the world. When I needed to replace a broken clip, I contacted Luggage Works and it was sent straight away and no postage was ever charged. On side note I had also purchased a Pelican Camera bag which has served me very well as my flight bag, fits snuggly in the flight bag compartment of the equipment I'm currently flying. My main complaint is not so much the bag and it's flaws but the lack of commication the Pelican Warranty Department has with its customers, and to charge for postage for what, I do not know then deliver nothing. I chose this bag because it is half the empty wieght of my Luggage works bag and as I have been flying for more than 20 years I was looking for something lighter.I guess I will have to go back to using a Luggage Works bag and eat the $400 I spent on the Pelican.

First impressions..
I travel by airlines extensively for work so I wanted to try this new line of luggage from Pelican, as I am familiar with the quality of their equipment cases. I have just received the case and I will share my first impressions of it. I will return to update this review after some travel and use in the field. I have given the case a neutral 3 star rating for the moment as I do not yet know how the case will endure the reality of airline travel.Points to consider:1. The EL30 case with an empty interior weighs in at 20lbs. on my bathroom scale.2. Some of the T15 stainless screws holding the exterior pieces of the case together require tightening, others have been over tightened from the factory and will spin with no purchase in the plastic shell.3. The design and build quality is nice; carry handles, latches and lock are recessed. Lid hinges seem practical, wheels have a ball bearing design with rubberized rolling surface. The interior of the case has thin padding covering the roof of the lid and base of the floor.4. The recessed pull handle is wide and telescopes easily into and out of the case. The handle extends to only one length, no multiple handle heights are available. The handle is wide and well shaped.5. When the case is stood on its wheels there is no protection for the lid coming into direct contact with the ground and is already showing scraping, despite this case is completely new. To offer some protection for the plastic I removed the 3 Torx screws opposite the wheels and installed a #8 stainless steel finish washer with each screw. I also added a drop of Gorilla glue to each screw hole prior to re-installing the screws to help keep the screws and washers in place. See the photos.I will update this review after some real world use and evaluate the durability of the design to help you decide if it is worth your money to invest in.Next: I will return to update the durability of the case after it has seen use.

Over priced for what it is
The bag is sturdy and the best part is being able to sit on it. Pretty scratched up and acuffed only after a few trips. I noticed a screw missing out of it after the first week. I wish i went with a different bag. I bought thia bag to outlast all the regular luggage out there, so far it seems about the same as my old regular luggage.
