Sylvania Mosaic Flexible LED Light Kit

It does everything it advertises. I do not regret getting it.But I can't use it for the purpose intended, which is to add to my colorful TV room. I have other LED devices that slowly (and dimly) fade from color to color, which sit among my 5 lava-lamps (2 grande sized). So the room is all about mood.But this device is too bright for that (even on it's lowest fade setting) and distracting. Two nights in a row while watching a movie, I had to turn it off (which was easy by the way, thanks to the remote). Note that this was not mounted in front of me, but up to my left side and behind me (on top of a window frame 7' up). It was distracting even in my peripheral vision.Also, it isn't totally smooth: if you can see the actual lights, you can detect the stepping up and down of voltage.But if you use this as others have, like under the bar or something like that, I'm sure it rocks. I'm going to have to find a similar use for it. Another plus: it can be used with timers. I was worried that when the timer powered everything down, it would turn the unit off. The next day, it came back on with everything else.It is built well and comes with 3 flexible connectors for tight corners.One more caveat: it is fixed with mounting tape that is intended to be permanent, not to be moved later, but you can probably find a way to improvise around that issue.Wish: that it didn't use white when it cycles through colors--that one is especially bright.Edit: if you have this plugged into a timer, but have it turned off, when the power comes on, the lights will flash brightly for a half a second, then go out. It's visually like a lightning strike in the next room. Small nit, but it still freaks me out when it happens.

I bought 3 from a 3rd party seller on Amazon, and illuminated under the cabinets of my big kitchen with these handy, BRIGHT lights. The strips stick to any smooth, clean surface, and can be moved after attached several times, without a problem. The extension cords work great, and are flexible enough to bend to 90 degrees or more. I have 3 remote controls so I can keep one close by. I've read the remotes can change the settings on Onkyo A/V receivers, so I guess they share the same frequency. Mine is a Yamaha, so I'm safe. My kitchen looks so much better, and lights are super bright, use very little electricity, generate no heat, and I can change colors as desired! I can also put it in full disco mode if John Travolta drops by! Truth be told, I proceeded to light my entire kitchen with LED strip lights bought on Amazon. The 16ft rolls are about $20, and all the hardware is now cheap. This is the future, and done right, it looks good and lights very evenly. I have about 2000 LED's ringing the ceiling, and it's BRIGHT, uses far less electricity than tube lights, gives off no heat, and can be moved at will!

Got them to use to front light a set of book cases. It was easier to mount them on the inside of the face frame and just drill a couple holes in the top of the cabinet. Bought 3 sets with some extensions and the whole job took less than an hour. Now all the cabinets have a nice soft light that showcases some wood turnings and other art and the install is for all purposes invisible.The remote works for all of them so only one is needed. However, when installing you will need to be sure that the little sensor, or receiver, can "see" the remote. This is an IR setup and so line of sight is required. I stapled them to the top of the cabinets just back about 1/4" and painted the white part brown.. You can't even see them.

My husband designed a ceiling light fixture and decided to use LED strip lighting in the tentacles of the design and WOW! These LEDs made this design pop. It looks awesome and wows our clients! What makes this product rise above the rest is the fact that the strips are flexible which permitted a lot more versatility when he was customizing the design. The multiple colors are beautiful and brilliant and includes the classic pure white (the colors are a varied selection of pure colors rather than mixed) . It strobes and fades smoothly which is such a very nice feature.We purchased another LED kit prior to finding this one and couldn't use it for this project. The strip colors were mixed rather than a selection of pure/single colors. So buyer beware. All kits are not equal and the description can be confusing when they use the term multiple colors.

Friend has these in her kitchen under and on top of her cabinets. Having already been using Philips Hue for 3 years, I thought adding these around my bed would be a fun idea. WRONG! The adhesive is coming off where the strips must bend round a corner I tried using the connectors they include, they are too small to make the bend properly. I'lll probably end up ripping them down and throwing them out unless I can find wide 'staples' to hold them up. There is no real way to put these around a bed unless you buy 3 starter kits and I'm just not paying that much money-especially since there's only one outlet available near the bed to accept the plug. However, they do look nice round the entertainment centre/fireplace, under counters, etc.

This is a very nice set and easy to install, with the self stick backing. Will have to se if it stays on as I have it mounted in on the top inside of a curio cabinet, facing downward. Seems to be OK after 3 weeks or so. Would have been better with connector cables about 3 inches longer, but still does it's job. Lights up very nice and is dimmable.

I like these lights a lot. They help create the theme I'm looking for in my man cave. Only draw back is if you want to do extensive lighting, you'll need to get their expansion kit; the shipping for that takes forever though.

I love working with this style of lighting. The kit works great as long as you have the sensor in a spot that the remote can see it.The colors are wonderful and the four different variable modes work great. I enjoy the slow fade that allows for all 15 different color changes as if with every breath is changes color. Very cool. This is also the least expensive you will find anywhere!
