If you read the instructions you should have NO problems (and I didn't even read them all the way though because the machine is self explanatory)!!! It tells you to clean the rollers before use. I wet a folded paper towel in glass cleaner and rolled it through the machine. Worked perfectly, plus any cleaner with an alcohol base is going to dry faster too. The handle has no way to lock it into the cranking mechanism, but if you just push In a little it keeps the handle in. The instructions also say to clean between rollings. Any artist who wants to keep their tools for a long time will keep them clean anyway. I goofed a bunch of times and had no problems with hitchhikers from other clay. Make sure to check underneath the rollers for little bits of excess clay. Comes out easily with the sharp end of a safety pin or whatever you have handy that's like a needle. I had NO lines, clay rolled out wonderfully. Comes with a clamp to hold it down, but my table was too thick to use it. I just laid the clay over the back of the machine and either held it down with my free hand or rolled slowly and caught the clay.I understand not everyone's experience will be like mine, but there are more good reviews than poor.HERE'S THE BIGGEST THING - With the crazy weather right now expect shipping delays! I have Prime, ordered on a Monday and didn't get it until Saturday. Be prepared to wait.
