Thick-walled tubes with special suspension offer wonderfully restful tones. Our windsinger chimes series combines the very finest artistry & craftsmanship With computer-age technology, allowing you to experience a whole new dimension of beautiful sound. Made from super-thick-walled aluminum tubes which are specially-suspended, these wind chimes resonate much longer than other wind chimes, bathing you in waves of enduring harmony every time The wind blows the chimes of Apollo are named for the Greek God of prophecy, music & healing. According to mythology, Apollo'S Chariot carried the sun across the sky each day bringing light & warmth to the earth below. Woodstock windsinger chimes are musically-tuned using an ancient system Known as "just intonation." This means the frequencies at which the different tubes vibrate are related to one another by simple whole# ratios. Tones that are related in this way produce the purest, most beautiful musical intervals. This chime is tuned to an ancient Chinese pentatonic scale. Hang the chimes of Apollo in your garden & let it bring music & healing to all who visit your home. In 1979, grammy award-winning musician & instrument designer garry kvistad created the first Woodstock Chime from an aluminum lawn chair he found in a landfill. Fascinated by the scale of Olympos, a 7th century pentatonic scale that can't be played on a modern piano, Garry cut & tuned The lawn chair tubes to the exact frequency of the ancient scale. The resulting Chimes of Olympos was the first Woodstock Chime & is still one of our best selling, musically-tuned wind chimes. Garry & his wife Diane still develop the chimes today as part of their family-owned business in New York's Hudson Valley. Woodstock Chimes - the world's favorite windchime.

Soul-wrenchingly lovely
I first saw these chimes at a local nursery almost 10 years ago. I had listened to every one of their other Woodstock chimes, then tried the huge King David chimes last. At the first tone, I was lost. Captivated. Transfixed. Compared to the others, this particular chime was deeper, richer, and the resonance seemed to go right through me. The resonance went on and on, and the music it makes was just breathtaking. After a move, we discovered my old chimes (not King David) had broken strings. My husband fixed them with fishing line but they soon broke again. When I asked him about them a few months later, he wasn't sure what had happened to them. So....I said if he lost these chimes, perhaps it was time to get the awesome King David chimes? He thought I was joking, but I shopped around, and settled on the chimes sold on Amazon. Another site had them for $20. less, but I was more confident going with Amazon; they back up their products pretty well, and the other site was totally unknown to me.Only one of our trees is big enough to hold these huge chimes; they are about 7 feet long and weigh 35 lbs. I was concerned about the occasional high winds, but the chimes are so heavy they hold their own and are not too noisy. Also, my husband was afraid the neighbors would complain, but the people behind us love them! They were wondering what the beautiful sounds were so they looked over the fence, lol. They told my husband they are high quality chimes and had beautiful sound. They sit outside and listen to them, too. :DAnother concern was perhaps they'd get stolen. After hanging them up, I discarded that worry. They are not only 35 lbs, but they would be extremely noisy to remove!I live in AZ, and the days are usually too hot for me, so in the evenings I stretch out on a lawn chair to look at the bright stars and listen for the chimes. They never fail to carry me away, and were worth every penny. Thank you for a lovely product.

It HUMS
It chimes with enough wind, but so far, it mostly hums. I love the hum.I was not expecting the chimes to be okay as the box was BADLY damaged. However, they were perfect out of the box. That says something about the durability of these chimes. Each chime was individually wrapped in a plastic sleeve. The strings are heavy duty, not thin thread like on Woodstock's smaller chimes. I like the look of the single cords going into the center of the chimes better than the spider web of thin threads on their smaller chimes. My hook was installed and waiting. I hung Orpheus under the eaves on the North East corner of the house to avoid a lot of exposure to direct sunlight. My new chime was hanging within minutes of its arrival. I did not wait for a gentle breeze to release the music. I gleefully rang it chuck wagon style.I returned some of the smaller Woodstock chimes I purchased because of the thin strings. They sounded good, but I was concerned with string failure. The Orpheus chime uses better/heavier string. I expect these will last many years.I have also purchased two QMT chimes (made in USA), that are higher quality chimes than Woodstock chimes. The QMT chimes have excellent sound quality: Bells of Vienna 36" and Shenandoah Melodies 55". Sold on Amazon. My silver Orpheus chimes are nice, but I love the color options available on QMT chimes. However, this is my favorite Woodstock chime.

You WILL enjoy these!
I've owned the Woodstock Orpheus for over ten years and it still gives me great pleasure on a windy day. The tone, the resonance, the wonderful length of sound is truly amazing. And after ten years there are no broken pieces of nylon, no wear on the tubes to speak of (and I live in Kansas where it is windy, icy, hot, hail, rain, sleet, humid, etc). The wooden disc in the center of mine appears to be about 2x as thick as the one I see here, which I wonder about since it is hitting those metal tubes and exposed to the elements. I am still very impressed and happy. Bought one for my mother this past week, so I might add her comments here as well. Other chimes sound so "tinny" since I've had these. UPDATE: my mother loves these, AND, her sister came for a visit from Canada and loved them so much my mom bought her the same chimes! It's amazing someone hasn't posted an audio of these so you could hear them. They will sell not by word of mouth - but by sound of ear!!!

Love the sound
t gonna hand Saved up and finally bought these chimes and out of the box one of the strings was shearred off. Returned because for this amount of money the product shouldn't be so cheap. Love the sound, did not like quality of product. Also tubes all scratched up. But that string couldn' be reattached it was too far down and I wasn't gonna keep and hang an almost $500 chime with a knotted string. Made me wonder how long would the other strings last. I've had earlier versions of Woodstock and had no problem. I hear they are made overseas now. Super heavy to return as well.

Stunning!
Due to some good luck on the stock market (Thank you Apple Computer!) I felt flush enough to order both the Chimes of Apollo and Chimes of King David. The Chimes of Apollo are large by comparison to other wind chimes but only half the size of the King David Chimes. The Apollo chimes are very nice but the King David chimes are outstanding. They are very large and well made and have a magnificent, long, sustained tone when the wind moves the clapper. The chimes are deep, melodic and majestic compared to the ting-a-ling sound of lessor wind chimes. If you can afford to spend over $400. on wind chimes, you will be richly rewarded by the Chimes of King David.I seldom rate anything at five stars but this product merits the top rating.Easy John

Heavenly Sounds
I already own several Woodstock Windsinger Chimes (7 in total) but the Chimes Of Athena are my absolute favourite. The tones from these are simply divine. I couldn't believe my luck that they had £40 off each of these so I purchased two. I know I will get many happy years out of them as I already have seven year old ones and they still look and sound amazing.

Quality in tone and build
Wonderful chimes that ring with a fantastic quality of tone and resonate for a good while, they are very heavy tho, 7lb, and very long, about a metre. I've hung mine with a 10lb s-biner onto my washing line till I can find a better way to hang them... but I love them to bits, so relaxing..... You can listen to them and other Woodstock Chimes on you tube to choose a set you like but the bigger the better imho, forgot to say, these are hung on a metal ring and have a nicely finished, plastic ringer with a metal wind catcher.... no bits to rust or crack :D

So sonorous!
Beautifully sonorous and heavy windchimes that look great hanging from the silver birch in my back garden. A 4 hands job to put up although I managed with 2 but wouldn't recommend. You will have to work out your own fixing method....a bicycle cable lock worked best for me. The chimes are really well made although I wonder how the threading will cope with the British weather. Being in a lower register the sound doesn't seem to travel as much unless the wind gets up. Even then the neighbours love the tones. Fully recommended

Amazing Angelic Chimes
I bought two sets of these chimes on the Bank Holiday weekend when they were at an amazing price and they are fabulous. I already have the Woodstock Chimes Of The Phoenix And These whilst slightly bigger blend in perfectly with them. I have them hanging on my front porch and people walking past compliment them on the serene sounds. I absolutely love them. Woodstock chimes sound even more amazing in the autumn/winter when the breeze is stronger and the sounds are more obvious. All in All a fabulous purchase!!

peaceful sounding
bought these chimes almost a month ago but due to building work being carried out on the house I couldn't hang them up until the work was done (scaffolding in the way). they are now up and the sound is excellent when they catch even the slightest breeze, even though the didn't come cheap I am seriously thinking about buying another set. Woodstock wind chimes are excellent value for money and I would recommend them to anyone
