Brilliant compact little processor
I was bought a von shef processor for xmas that had to be sent back twice for the same issue. I decided I wanted a refund instead of yet another replacement as I spent more time posting the thing back than using it. Most of the processors that are on the market come with a whole heap of gadgets which I can guarantee you will never use. You will find your favourite blade and favourite setting and stick with them forever. I like the fact that this food processor comes with the basic of bits, there is a slice and a grate blade, a chopping blade and a kneading blade. I found that I never used the liquidator attachment or the various sizes of slicing blades on my old one. The unit itself is very easy and straight forward to use, the little instruction book tells you what each bit does, there are 2 speed settings and a pulse button and all the removable attachments are dishwasher safe. I regularly use the slice and grate blades to make salads, I shove everything in through the top, such a time saver. I have used the chopping blade to make hummus and even a chickpea/sweet potato falafel mix.All in all it's very basic which I find is the best part about it, this is also reflected in the price, hoes to show that spending £100+ on things doesnt necessarily equal quality.

Sturdy, basic but does the job well.
I have arthritis in hands so need processor for chopping and grating. I cook from scratch always and do things "The old fashioned way" having done this all my life . These days my grip is poor so chopping and grating gets dangerous! My last processor was wonderful except the grating attachment broke due to weak plastic attachments and the insertion of the metal blades were fiddly and hard for me. So I chose this Decen processor the the following reasons.1 ) The grating blade was all steel so looked strong2) The chopping blade fitted low down with little gap beneath so looked like it would chopp without leaving big lumps of veggies etc3) Price. I couldn't afford much . ( Would love a new Magimix but this one costs far less than a second hand top of the range!) So after much research I took the plunge and bought this one although I had some reservations, but I thought if it's not for me I can send it back (Can't do that with second hand!)PROS.It works well. Grates quickly and cleanly on Pulse. The grater is a single disk and seems very strong and works efficiently. Not likely to break.Wide Opening takes larger blocks of cheese than my last processors.Chops well . Onions cut up quite finely.Pastry blade actually works well too. I had resorted to using chopping blade to make pastry before but this pastry blade works really well and makes good crumb with fat and flour. It's quite light to lift from back of work top where it fits snugly, to front. Suckers hold machine well when in use.Although basic it performs quickly and efficiently.Easy to clean (See Cons)Excellent responses from company on queries about use.CONSLimited number of attachments. Only the basics. Grater, slicer,(all in one disc) Pastry/dough blade, Chopping blade. (This could be a pro as you are not paying for attachments you never use)Not dishwasher safe. I contacted Decan to ask if it was and was told to wash by hand as per instruction leaflet. The reason for this is because the spindle is attached to the bowl and so dishwashing could have a detrimental effect on spindle fixing. I have found that actually it's really easy to clean in hot soapy water and using a dishwashing brush to clean the grating disk it's less than a 5 minute job!.It took me a while to get the thing working! I clicked the mixing bowl into place. Cliched the lid into place. Put in cheese through tube .Put in Pusher. Pressed Pulse. Pressed all buttons and NOTHING!. Eventually after getting ready to send the thing back...It Clicked! There are THREE safety catches. The Bowl clicks into place OK. The lid clicks into place OK and then there is a CLICK when you push the pusher down. If ,as my bit of cheese was too high, the pusher does not make contact with the safety catch. So of course the machine won't work. I now make sure single carrots etc go through the round tube in the pusher or larger blocks of food like cheese fit under the pusher allowing the pusher to click into place. This is really a Pro for the machine but at the time ,until I figured out how to load the food it was very frustrating..Now there is no problem for me and I have got used to the machine. It's actually quicker than others I have had.I miss the whisk attachment of my old machines. This one has not got one. Maybe the makers could design one? I'd buy it as an extra! So far I have not seen replacement parts (Obviously not needed them so far) However I think if I needed a new part then Decen may be able to supply one. They have very approachable Customer Service....as long as you get the right eMail address for whichever country you are in! There were two emails given for contact. The first ( .com) gave no response. Immediate response from the second. For the UK Use this one. [email protected] or [email protected] the contact address could be reviewed and made more clear by the company. To summarise. I am more than happy with the performance of this processor. I use it almost daily. It performs the basics well, grates, chops and makes dough. It is easy to use once you get the hang of it. It's not like others I have had as the spindle is attached to the bowl. because of this it needs washing by hand to ensure longevity. (I suppose you can wash the main bowl it in the dishwasher but I feel this may cause problems later on). Another difference is the third CLICK when inserting the pusher. If this is not activated the processor will not work. So Main bowl Click. Lid CLICK. and Pusher CLICK.Low price for a good, basic processor. With good customer service and care I am confident I shall be using this machine for several years to com. (Unless I win the Lottery, then I may invest in a top of the range processor... but do I really need all those attachments? )

does a good job
A helpful food chopper, it does help my wife with many food preparing activities. She likes the way you can chop many of the vegetables , it saves a lot of time and the process is more enjoyable. It’s decently made , with sharp knives. My wife haven’t struggled so far in using it. It’s an easy process to clean it and aparently it’s a washing machine friendly.

A bit fiddly
Had to return this item because some grated carrot and cabbage got caught inside the plastic handle of the jug. The handle is sealed so there’s no way of getting the bits out. There is a very small opening in the handle and the food must have got in that way but it’s not big enough to access the inside of the handle for cleaning.

A good buy
I've only used the food processor once so far to make my own low carb bread. It was a bit fiddly to use at first and I did initially think that I had been sent a dud. It turns out you have to be very careful when assembling it to ensure that all components are exactly aligned. If not it just won't work. Once I had got over this hurdle it worked perfectly and my first attempt at home made low carb bread was a real success .For the price I would recommend this food processor.Addition to original review - This food processor stopped working after the second time I used it. The third time I assembled it and tried to use it it was dead. I will be returning this item.

Great bit of kit
So you know what its like, you look through Amazon for something, reading the reviews, trying to find out which one to buy,you end up with your head spinning with it all....so after much deliberating I settled on this one, after just wanting, basically a basic food processor, and im glad I bought this! I cant imagine any one performing better than this to be honest,it does everything I need and nothing I dont..no bells and whistles here,or attachments and settings you will never use,it does everything you will typically need in a food processer, slice, dice, mix, grate, and it does it well! Its not really noisy,is very stable also with the suckers, and makes light work of everything..not difficult to use,its all pretty self explanatory really, easy to clean and assemble, and safety features built in so you cant chop your hand off! Very pleased with this, and not to expensive either,as these things go.if you are on the fence...look no further.

Obviously NOT dishwasher safe, got water inside sealed units
Looked good. Put parts in dishwasher, low heat, quick wash. The ‘sealed inits’ had water inside & shouldn’t have done-there was a metal spring with water surrounding it. Condensation still inside 24 hrs later. Returned it!
