The Jacob Sock is made from the fleece of the Jacob Sheep, a two or four horned animal with a thick fleece in patches of dark brown and cream. The dark brown and cream is gathered carefully by hand and then is spun in different percentages to produce a range of totally natural color. The colors range from cream through every shade of beige, coffee, peat, charcoal and the darkest brown. The Jacob Sock is all natural with no dying or bleaching involved in the process, making it an exceptionally hardwearing and long lasting sock In the little village of Cornamona in Connemara, Galway, which nestles at the top of the lake, is the little second generation company, ran by Louis G. Brennan, called Connemara Socks. Connemara, on the edge of the world, is bounded on one side by the Atlantic Ocean and on the other by the serene waters of Lough Corrib. The family run company uses highly sophisticated techniques to produce a wide range of socks, using the most natural fibres in the world - pure new wool, merino, alpaca and luxurious cashmere blended together or mixed with hardwearing nylon or soft acrylic. The thermal qualities of wool are famous and Connemara Socks use it as a base for all their socks. The dedication to quality, combined with the natural inspiration of the surrounding landscape makes Connemara Socks a special company that delivers a very special product.
