Schmidt Brothers - Acacia 18" Magnetic Wall Bar, Universal Cutlery Storage Fits 8 - 10 Knives

The Schmidt Magnetic Knife Strip Wall Bar met my high expectations. The magnet is quite strong, working well for all of my knives, and the 24" size allows me to add a few other frequently used magnetic items such as scissors. As others warned in previous reviews, the template is about a 1/4 inch off, so I measured the holes on the magnetic bar and adjusted the template. In addition, I checked the placement of the magnetic strip so that it worked best for my knives and space. Other than the minor template glitch it was easy to install using the anchors and screws.Storing my knives on this attractive magnetic strip opens up a lot of space on my tiny kitchen counter. In addition, it makes it easier to keep the counter neat and tidy. I chose the Schmidt Brothers magnetic knife strip over others partly because a friend also installed this brand, and it is functional and attractive. I highly recommend this product.

This is great for a knife holder. We also have one in the garage where we put small tools that we use frequently for example, a small hammer different screwdrivers and scissors.

I was fairly upset when I drilled holes in my brand new backsplash using the provided template only to learn that the template did not match the product. Especially when I had to plan and measure very carefully to hit a stud on one side, and then to use a toggle anchor with a plug for the other side. The toggle anchor and plug are too large to move (because the hole for the anchor is so large and the error in the template is about 3/8"), so I had to move the screw at the stud. Now neither side are anchored into studs. In all my years of using product templates, I have never run into this rookie mistake. Schmidt Bros. should stop shipping immediately, or somehow let people know. They have to know about this mistake. Even a simple email would have given me a fighting chance. Other than that, it's a pretty nice knife holder.

Good quality, looks good and comes with everything you need. DO NOT use the template to drill your holes or screws in. The drawing IS NOT accurate.

It looks great. It's functional. Exactly what I wanted.

I have already received two of these items. In both cases, the packaging was not damaged but the wood around was cracked.

This was for all my new knives, and they are heavy. I went up easy and looks really beautiful. Hold knives really strong

Just bought this in mid-2023. Waited to put up until past return period (Mistake). Damaged in box, scratches on surfaces and mild chip on edge of wood. Deciding I can live with little imperfections I decided to hang it. Used the template to drill holes in drywall, insert wall anchors, and screws and find that the template is off. I had not read the reviews stating the same until after it happened. Choice: ruin the position and drywall? No - I found it easier to chisel out the product and reset the mounting plates on the back to the correct position. It all fits and works fine. But there is a very special place after death for people who let this happen IYKWIM
