Coby CXCD329 Personal CD Player with 60 Sec. Anti Skip and Stereo Headphones

Looked long and hard at reviews of these CD players. They were all pretty depressing but I noticed that a similar Sony model had only a marginally higher star rating (about 3.2 as opposed to 3) and the defects in the Sony that led to most of the 1 star ratings seemed more serious than the Cody player 1 star ratings, so at roughly half the price I decided to go with the Cody. I tried it out walking on my treadmill (at 80 I don't run) and it works fine, no skipping. Head phones are easily adjustable but not sure they will stay on your head without slipping off so I may end up using earbuds. Would have preferred a way to plug it into a 110 volt outlet especially since one of the raps on this player is that it eats batteries. However, since I have a number of rechargable batteries I did not consider this a serious drawback. Unlike some reviewers, I found the sound quality very good. I listen to classical music and while recorded music can never be as good as a live concert, the sound on this little player seems almost as good as what my stereo system will produce.

I bought this for the purpose of having music while I mow the grass. I have tried other portable systems to play CD's and with the vibration it just won't work. As this did not work either. Where I mow it is rougher than the normal lawn so in all fairness I can't say there is anything wrong with the player. And it did work where the other systems failed. You just can't pound the devil out of it and keeps working. The sound was fine, but that must have a lot to do with the ear phones you use. And I am afraid I can't even tell you about battery life because it failed shortly after I started mowing. Again where I mow it can get tough. At times I am actually on two wheels. For what it is worth I have always had great luck with Coby items when they are used for what they are intended. And I mean for the price I thought why not try it.

Yeah, I know - CD players are going the same way as email, PC's and cellphones that don't do medical scans. But this item was probably worth the $14.99 a spent ('Bought two to get the "Free Shipping" deal), but I'm not at all sure they're worth the $27.00+ which is the latest price. There's no "line out," the display is quite tiny and no features like "program," etc. In fact I can tell you the operation's kinda "clunky," knowing full well THAT doesn't really tell ya anything. I keep trying to find a GOOD CD player, since I use them with my particular application, but I think it's a losing battle now. 'Best one I've run across is one from Radio Shack manufactured years ago called "Accurian." 'Wish I could find more of those puppies.I'd say you could probably do better finding a used portable player off eBay than purchasing these things. ('Sorry, COBY.)

I bought this product so I could listen to CD's while in bed. When I got the CD out of the box and attempted to use it, I had to readjust the headphone jack several times to get the sound to work on both sides. The place to put in the batteries was cheap plastic and will break easily if mishandled. This product does work, but, you must handle with care for fear of breakage. I feel this product will at most last a year because it is made so cheaply. If you want a CD player then pay a little extra to get one that is made better.

I own several brands of portable CD players (including an ancient Coby) that all play MP3 files. The newest is probably 10 years old. I've been asked to supply the music for our 50th class reunion through the venue's sound system, and I want to have a way I can leave the party whenever I want and leave the equipment behind. The facility has no way to use a flash drive and I didn't want to hook up an Ipod, so this cheap Coby seemed the ticket. I burned 8 hrs. worth of oldies to a CD and ordered this "disposable" CD player. Well, it certainly is. Although the Amazon description says it plays MP3 files, it doesn't. I tested the disk in my old Coby, in an old Philips, and in my car and it works fine. It doesn't work at all in this CX-CD329. For the heck of it, I tried an audio cd in it (the kind you buy at the store) and that did work.So, if you plan to play MP3 disks on this player, I would strongly urge you to buy something else. I'll be throwing this away and adding another set of crappy headphones to my collection. Amazon sells a lot of good stuff, but I'm tired of getting burned on their electronics.

This was another gift for my partner who "lost" her old one.She says the sound and stability of this player is very good.I'm also very happy because I don't have to tolerate her listening to CDs because the earphones give me peace and quiet when she's blaring Nana Mouskouri, or her choice of other artists that I do not much care for.Good price, good "Music Machine". You get what you pay for, especially when it has the name Coby on it. I bought this to use with a multimedia system I set up as home audio in my kitchen so the headphone output doubles as the auxiliary input for that system. I use this for older cds I have that I haven't formatted to mp3 yet. You could spend more, OR you could use that money to buy a mp3 player.

Plays great, has skip protection. The Fwd and Back buttons can take to next/previous track. Also, they can shuttle backwards second by second to play or replay what's ahead / behind.The battery compartment door is very "loose." It slides open almost too easily, and uncareful handling can make the door slide open a little when this is not desired. Using paper or something could rememdy this. For the price, this is a great personal CD player. Glad to have it.

ich habe das gerät ende juli gekauft und anfang Dezember funktioniert es schon nicht mehr richtiges sieht nicht schlecht aus, das display ist etwas klein, anschluss für netzgerät gibt es keinen, batteriefach ist hier aner praktischerweise außen und der batterieverbrauch hält sich auch bei viel verwendung in grenzendas erste was seit einer weile nicht mehr ganz so funktioniert ist das display bei dem der oberste rand ausgefallen ist sodass zB anstatt 7 nur mehr / erkennbar ist, was ich persönlich jetzt nicht so schlimm findewas ich aber sehr schlimm finde ist, dass der kopfhöreranschluss nicht mehr richtig funktioniertseitdem ich das gerät habe sind ein und dieselben kopfhörer angesteckt und ich hab sie seitdem nicht wieder abgesteckt oder in irgendeiner form an dem kabel gezogen, aber seit anfang des monats ist mir von einem tag auf den anderen plötzlich aufgefallen, dass die musik im linken Hörer sehr viel leiser spielt als im rechten, wo ich die normale lautstärke gehört habezuerst dachte ich es wären mal wieder die Kopfhörer kaputt, wie es ab und zu nun mal passiert wenn ein hörer total ausfällt, dann ist mir aber, wie schon erwähnt, aufgefallen das sehrwohl noch musik rauskommt, nur halt viel leiserich habe um sicher zu gehen die Kopfhörer an anderen geräten getestet und andere Kopfhörer auf dem playerergebnis : die kopfhörer funktionieren überall anders ganz normal und andere Kopfhörer bringen bei diesem player alle dasselbe Ergebnisich hatte ehrlich gehofft das gerät würde länger halten nachdem es ja auch nicht gerade so billig ist und die eine rezension die es damals gab sehr gut ausfieles war eine enttäuschende und ernüchternde Erfahrung, denn glaubt mir bitte wenn ich euch sage, dass die ungleichheit der lautstärke in den kopfhörern beim ausgiebigen testen für ziemliches kopfweh gesorgt habenwieder kaufen würd ich es definitiv nicht, dafür sind die nicht mal 5 monate bei dem preis echt zu wenig

Das gelieferte Gerät funktionierte leider schon nach der ersten Audio-CD nicht mehr. Das Display zeigte lediglich noch "disc" an, spielte die CD aber nicht mehr ab. - Kann ja mal vorkommen, und muss auch nicht symptomatisch für diesen CD-Player sein.Natürlich zurück an amazon, was ja kein Problem ist.Ein Ersatz-Gerät dieses Typs werde ich aber aus zwei Gründen nicht bestellen:Zum einen lässt sich die CD nach Gebrauch für meinen Geschmack zu schwer entnehmen. Mit Druck auf die Mitte allein tut sich noch gar nichts. Mit Gefühl auch nichts. Die CD muss man schon sehr beherzt am Rand anpacken, deren Biege-Festigkeit mutig antesten - und dann geht's eigentlich immer noch nicht auf's erste mal. - Für einen älteren Menschen (war für meine Mutter gedacht) eher nichts.Und: Zumindest nach dem Einlegen pfeift bzw. singt die CD im Gerät durchaus vernehmlich einige Zeit (auch wohl noch nach dem Hochlaufen). - Müsste auch nicht sein.Von mir also keine Kaufempfehlung.

Nach reiflicher Überlegung kaufte ich mir diesen CD-Player trotz fehlender Referenzen.Nun habe ich ihn schon zwei Wochen und bin sehr zufrieden damit. Es gibt kein Rauschen, die Lautstärke ist gut abgestimmt.Der CD-Player ist klein und handlich. Die Kopfhörer rutschen auch nicht aus dem Gerät wenn man beim CD hören einmal einschläft und sich viel bewegt.Das finde ich sehr gut, da ich bei meinen Antirauch- und Abnehm CD`s regelmässig einschlafe.Mit einem Wort: SUPER

Das Gerät ist für das Geld nicht schlecht, es rauscht nur tierisch, macht das Hören dadurch nicht wirklich zum Genuss.

Coby CD PlayerPerfektes Zusammenspiel von CD Player und Kopfhörern(s.o.) ,habe sowohl sehr viel Freude an meiner Pop-Musik als auch an leichten Operetten gehabt.
