This is such a great idea. I'm thinking about buying another!
Been a dash cammer for 2 years now. Was getting tired of having the suction cup make spots on my window and fall off every blue moon. Saw this, thought "wow this is perfect!" and I bought it. The DAY I bought it, I go to my car to drive to a family members house. I put my camera on the suction cup and the suction cup comes detached from the base! Not even super glue would work. This item came in on-time, wrapped very nicely in bubble wrap to ensure no broken parts. I went outside, tightened it onto the 'back bar' (not sure what it's called) of my mirror, clipped the camera into place. It's awesome. I actually like the fact that the camera is pulled back from the window a little more - I don't really get any more reflection than I did with the suction cup. My dash is leather so you can see the leather reflection, dependent on the position of the sun. It's going to happen anyway. If anything, I can actually see a little more of my peripherals on camera, which is nice in case something happens just out of view. The piece secures nicely onto the joint of the mirror but be aware that moving your mirror may make the shot crooked. I recommend pointing your mirror down to get enough hand space above it. During the "install", tighten the joint as snug as possible without over tightening. THEN, adjust your mirror, and when the camera moves, simply correct it. Then leave everything alone. You can now get in and out of the car, and as long as you're not touching the mirror, your camera will remain at said position.Overall, the camera sits nice and tightly, no wiggling. As someone already mentioned, maybe an optional "arm" that can attach to the unit to allow the camera to get closer to the window and eliminate some of that glare. Overall, 8/10. This is going to come in handy.

I thought this was going to be loads better than the suction cup
I thought this was going to be loads better than the suction cup. it is, but only marginally. No longer do i fear the dashcam falling off the windshield on a particularly hot day in the sun. however, now i can't angle my rearview mirror as high up, because the dashcam is limited by the position of the mirror stalk. Also the little flipper for the day/night use is harder to use now that the dashcam is in the way.

Good device for the money
For the money this is a really good little device! It fits the rear view mirror mount on my Toyota Corolla perfectly. The only reason to mark it down one star is there is no locking mechanism. The camera slides onto the holder, but it is press-fit only. That being said, it does seem to fit securely. One additional plus is now that the dashcam is mounted on the rear view mirror, it is much easier to put up the sun shade when we park.

Clamp it and forget it.
Put your dash cam on your rearview mirror -- off the dash and out of the way. This bracket makes it very easy to keep your dash uncluttered. No worry about beanbag mounts moving, or suction cup mounts coming loose (they Always do), and there is no messy adhesive. The camera came with enough power cable to enable me to run it from the rearview mirror ==> under the molding around the windshield ==> under the dash to the aux power receptacle in the console storage bin (it could also be plugged into cigarette lighter instead). This bracket allows for a sturdy, out of the way mount for your dash cam.

I like this holder
This is a nice dash cam holder. It is much more stable than the suction cup.Update: I bought a second one for my work truck. The other holder caused the dash cam to shake, this one has made it very stable.

Bought this mount because I've heard that the stock suction-cup ...
Bought this mount because I've heard that the stock suction-cup mount for the G1W-CB is of low quality. This, however, is the complete opposite. Holds my dashcam VERY securely and tight, in just the right spot for it to record. For those that buy this: do NOT lose the rubber strap that's inside the mount when you receive it. You will need to ensure that there's no gap left between the mount and rearview mirror bracket - it's what makes it as secure as it is, as the mount holds loosely and doesn't close enough to hold.

This could be so much better for dash cams with a simple change...
I have 3 of these in different cars. All dash cams suffer from window glare bouncing off the dashboard. This bracket would be fantastic if the arm that actually holds the dash cam extended several inches so it could be placed closer to the windshield to reduce glare.

After that it works just fine, holds tight
Could not get it to tighten down all the way on my mirror arm, had to add an additional rubber spacer. After that it works just fine, holds tight, and does not move. Time will tell how well it holds up to the S. Florida sun.

This is just easy to install or remove
Fast shipment. They even included a keychain on the pouch! ππ» I purchased this bracket because I don't want to stick the dashcam mount with double sided tape on my windshield. This is just easy to install or remove. I used the original mount that came with my dashcam.
