Perfect for 2006 Dodge Magnum Hemi AWD
Great product. "Made in Germany" stamping is all over it. Fits and works perfectly in my 2006 Dodge Magnum Hemi AWD with the (Mercedes-built) NAG1/W5A580 transmission, despite the Amazon advisor saying that it doesn't. IT DOES FIT. Also, the AWD and the RWD use the same conductor plate. My tranny kept getting stuck in the infamous "limp-mode" (in 2nd gear and rev-limited at 3k rpm) due to a faulty speed sensor (OBDII code reader was showing P2767). The Chrysler dealer took one look at my mileage at 110K and would not even attempt to diagnose it any further, and concluded that a $3500 rebuilt transmission swap was called for. Google and Amazon led me to this product and I'm back on the road for a grand total of $140 (including synthetic oil and Starbucks). It's an easy but time-consuming job. If they'd added a simple drain plug to the pan it would have cut the time in half.Anyway, it shifts better than ever. Now I'm wishing I'd done the blue-top solenoid upgrade... maybe a future project.Quick update (9-18-2018): 4 years later and this conductor plate is still running great. Surprised how much the price went up though. I paid $96 back in 2014.

Needed modified to fit sprinter
2008 dodge sprinter. The dipstick guidance on the replacement part was about 1/2 inch taller then the stock one and interfered with proper installation, I was able to trim it off after some frustration. The stock one is the all-black one, the balck and white one is the replacement. you can see what i trimmed off the replacement to match and fit. Working great, but needed modified, that's why the 4 stars

Fits Jeep with W5A580 Transmission
Best price. Like some of the other reviews state, this is a Mercedes Benz part, not one of the Chinese knockoffs. Also comes with the wiring harness receiver as pictured. By the way, that turns out to be the hardest part of the job, getting that small part back in. Good luck to all you do it yourself'ers!

Does not fit Sprinter very well.
It will work in the sprinter but you have to modify the dipstick funnel. The dipstick funnel sits too high and hits the case of the transmission. The valve body will not seat properly to the transmission case. Your Mercedes-Benz dipstick will no longer work properly because it will extend all the way to the bottom of the pan instead of stopping at the appropriate depth. I would suggest getting an OEM replacement. If you search around. You can find them cheaper than this aftermarket.

Not good quality
I changed it in my t1n van. It has to be modified to fit. Not big deal. It worked for couple of weeks fine. Then starting issues began. You had to play with shifstick to find the right position to be able start van. ( there is magnet on conductor plate that allows starter to crank) after a few days ago it started leak from new electrical plug. I change plate again for mercedes oem and all is fine again. Go and buy oem. It 50$ cheaper then tbis dorman one.

It Works!
I have a 2006 Chrysler 300 Touring with the Mercedes Transmission. The earlier reviewer said it would work so I went ahead and bought this one. It was $150 cheaper that the part offered anywhere else. I got the part in and ask stated it is exactly the same, fit perfectly and the transmission is like new! Thank for the helpful review above and if anyone else needs this it is a great deal for a much more expensive part.

Fixes Nag1 transmission speed sensor codes!
Fixed my 2006 chrysler 300 srt8 that had a code for an input speed sensor. Dealer wanted almost $400 for the same part. They can go pound sand. Been using it for months and still working fine, and believe me, i put my hemi to work regularly so the transmission is handling this fine.Symptoms of bad speed sensor- getting stuck in limp home mode, meaning you only have first gear unless you pull fuse 11 to reset the tranny. You will also get a code, though i cant remember it off the top of my head.DO NOT REPLACE YOUR WHOLE VALVE BODY!The dealer will try to make you believe you need to. Dont, just do this and save a good thousand dollars in parts and labor.

Not a genuine Mercedes Benz part ...
Contrary to what others have posted in their reviews, this is NOT a genuine Mercedes Benz replacement part. There is no Mercedes Benz or Made In Germany stamping anywhere, only the DORMAN logo and part number 917-678. Still looks like a quality part for the money, I will update the review with comparison pictures when the replacement is underway.

If you have a good OBD2 diagnostic scanner and get codes saying implausible signals
Reasonably priced compared to others, although you need to make sure that its what you needed to cure the not able to rev car up past 3000RPM, go faster then 30KPH and not shift out of 1st gear. The Internet said this item would cure all these symptoms or the condition they call "Limp in Mode". What I didn't find out til after I had installed the new Plate, is the car needs the signal from the rear wheel tone rings to determine how fast the cars going and when to shift. If you have a good OBD2 diagnostic scanner and get codes saying implausible signals, codes from the rear wheels. The cause of the rings going bad are mostly from rust causing the rings to fall off the axel shafts.

install was great and car shifts properly now
this part ended up being a genuine Mercedes Benz part not a knockoff the dealer had quoted $1009 I purchased from Amazon for $216, install was great and car shifts properly now. I am glad I researched a bit before paying dealer price.
