Not the extreme white color/kelvin temperature that the packaging implies
First off, these bulbs and the packaging exactly matched the pictures of the product being used online, so no misrepresentation there. However, where it says "up to 3900K" on the front of the packaging, and then on the back, where is shows a picture of very yellow light coming from a standard halogen bulb, and then a very white light coming from the PIAA XW Hybrid bulb, that is not what I saw coming out of my headlights with the PIAA bulbs installed, and I will explain more of this towards the end of this review. I installed the pair of PIAA bulbs on one side of my car (low beam projector and high beam reflector lenses) and on the other side I had a pair of relatively new OSRAM Night Breaker Unlimited bulbs installed in both the low and high beam lenses. When you looked at the front of the car with the headlights on, you couldn't tell a color difference between the PIAA bulbs and the OSRAM bulbs, they are that close in color, but when you looked close at the reflector headlight housings on my car, you could see the dark blue partial bulb tinting on the OSRAM bulb being reflected on those internal surfaces, and on the other side you could see the light blue bulb tinting on the PIAA bulb being reflected on those internal surfaces, and this is really the only difference you could tell out in the real world. Driving down the road at night, you couldn't tell that one side of the car was putting out whiter light than the other side, or that one side of the car was putting out more light than the other side. But, when I returned to my garage, and was shining the lights up on the wall, and just studied them for a couple minutes, to me it looked like the OSRAM bulbs were a tad whiter than the PIAA bulbs, and it also looked like the OSRAM bulbs were putting out more light/lumens than the PIAA bulbs (the "hot spot" looked more intense and brighter). So now, back to that "up to 3900K" that is printed on the PIAA packaging. For my OSRAM bulbs, I saw stated numbers (on the internet) of anywhere from 3400K up to 3700K, and personally I think they are somewhere in the middle, right around 3560K, so when I'm looking at these lights shining up against my garage wall, and to me it looks like the OSRAM is a tad whiter than the PIAA, then that "up to 3900K" statement on the PIAA packaging can not be right, or maybe the kelvin numbers for the OSRAM bulbs are way understated, and should be much higher. Either way, to my naked eye, it looked like the OSRAM bulbs were a tad whiter and brighter (more lumens) when shining on the garage wall than the PIAA bulbs, so the PIAA bulbs are in the process of being returned to Amazon, and I will keep the OSRAM Night Breaker Unlimited bulbs installed in my car.

Upgrade from stock bulbs
Straight to most people want to know, this light are not LED or HID alike not even the piaa 4000 alike, so if you looking for HID or LED look this are not for you, now if you looking to upgrade you stock headlights bulbs by no to much difference just a bit more brighter and whiter then this are for you, as you can see my pictures the only way you can notice they whiter is by comparing side by side with a stock headlight so I have two Prius one have stock light the other one have the PIAA 3900, the Prius with the stock light it’s only in one picture all others are the PIAA, so you can see the difference only when they are side by side otherwise the will look yellow tone went looking straight to them, now when driving it’s what the PIAA advertised they 100% white so if that’s ok remember white is not blue tone that many people want for a newer car look, this headlight claims to last longer than the PIAA 4000, in case you don’t know the brighter the headlights bulbs the shorter life they have, so this one work for me, I removed my blue tone headlights bulbs because can’t see nothing when is raining I don’t want yellow or blue so this are the middle (white) probably that why is called hybrid.

You get what you pay for
So there are a lot of people on here that think they will get a "White" light out of this. Unfortunately you will not but then again you dont want a White light for certain driving conditions like Rain, Snow, Dust and Fog. If you go past 6000k on color temp or even touch it the light will reflect back at you so where you will see nothing but you life flashing before your eye's!!How do I know that? Well lets just say on one vehicle I did LED drop ins and the bulbs were at 6500k temp and in snow you might as well forget it. With the new lights it has now it is more of 5700k and it has full on projectors. Now for these lights I installed them on an old 1993 Nissan Pathfinder. I still have the factory Nissan headlight housings and to say the least they do project light pretty well but the bulbs that were in ut were kind of lacking.... And also showed some sign of oil/grease on the glass.... Not a good thing....After installing the new bulbs I could tell they were brighter. I could also tell that the light pattern was filled in a bit more. Distance? Unfortunately I cant speak on that as of yet since the vehicle is not quite driveable yet(soon I say!! Soon!!!!). I am expecting to have a fair distance with these but also understand that without projector headlights it will only do so much.Installation was a winch but then again it all depends on your vehicle. You can thank engineers for that!!So are you wanting a brighter bulb withput breaking the bank and having a good life? Then I suggest the PIAA brand to you!! Even if you go Xtreme White Plus you should be just fine. Just remember that if you have auto headlights life expectancy will be lower than normal.

Best conventional bulbs available
These bulbs are the best option for upgrading your conventional-bulb headlights. If you have rubber boots around the base of the bulb, those boots don't fit on LED replacements. I use these bulbs on my truck and motorcycles.

These are not white!
The media could not be loaded. These bulbs are advertised as xtreme white. they are yellow. not white, yellow. Spend 10 dollars less and buy these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K4ZNHNZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Not anything like the xtreme white series
Really disappointed in both the brightness and color temperature. Almost identical to stock bulbs. The PIAA Xtreme white series (not the hybrids) are the way to go. 3900k is indistinguishable from stock color. Just spring for the regular xtreme white bulbs.

Direct replacement
Not as bright as expected, very small noticeable difference from factory bulbs but anything was better than what they were.

Burnt out quick
1 bulb burnt out in the first three days. They were installed correctly by a professional. Hopefully was just a lemon.
