Lorber got game!!
Had the privilege of seeing Jeff in concert a couple of years back, with Dave Koz & Friends, in Saratoga Springs, NY. They rocked! This CD reminds me of that time in upstate NY - mellow, yet funky! "You Got Something", and "Take Control" are not to be missed, and the rest of the CD is enjoyable as well. This guy is a legend! Thanks, Jeff... you have been blessed!

I recommend it: hear this!
I didn't know JL before this... I received e-mail from Amazon of this new album... and now I know my favourite keybordist! Featuring Paul Jackson Jr. on Guitar, Gary Meek on Tenor Sax & Flute, Rick Braun on Trumpet, Dave Weckl on drums, Paul Brown on Guitar, Gerald Albright on Alto Sax. Track 2 REHAB is the Amy Winehouse's song.

Terrific tunes but too many vocals!
Jeff Lorber is a very creative musician. I don't think you'd find anybody that would argue with that. However, as some other reviewers have pointed out, that creativity doesn't always wind up equaling predictability because you never know exactly what kind of CD you're going to get with Jeff Lorber and I suppose that's part of his charm. For me, I'd prefer that he stick with the upbeat, quick tempo smooth jazz style that he has all-but defined. There is a lot of that on "Heard That", but there are too many vocal tracks to suit me. Why can't he come up with one all-vocal tracks CD for people who like that style and another one with nothing but cuts like "Come on Up" and "Gamma Rays" for people like me? Personally, I didn't think "Rehab" worked at all.

Very Nice!
Upon first impression this CD is very nice from start to finish. Its been a while since I have listened to a CD that made such a great first impression. I have no complaints at all. The musical compositions are satisfying along with great sound quality. This CD recording has a very good sense of spacial presentation as well. This CD sounds much better throughout than his prior project.

Respectedfull。
