This device is the correct item to use when you have multiple "home runs" (ethernet cables). If you opt for a generic hub from the local big box store, or stack up multiple splitters to serve additional locations in your home or office, you may have issues. For me, this device solved two problems -- first, weak signal strength at the modem (causing loss of Internet and frequent rebooting of the modem) and second, MOCA transmission failures (causing freezing of X1 and daily rebooting of the X1 primary and secondary boxes.) I highly recommend this product!

I departed my TV service from WOW due to lousy signal and service and went with an antenna and With this amplifier I get very good picture quality. I had one that was installed from the service provider and like an idiot I returned it along with my cable boxes and luckily I found this on amazon (exactly the same item) except with a larger splitter and the channels come very clear (HD) quality and I get around 16 channels for the price of paying $0.dollars per month.
