Great Little Mother Board
The Intel BOXD525MW mother board is a very good little board. I was attracted to it because of the low power consumption, low heat production and PCI slot and ultimately the low cost. We are using it in VoIP server for a low call volume system. It could handle a lot more calls and CPU intensive codecs than we currently have it set up for. This means we don't use it's video or audio capacity at all, so I can't speak to that. Our interest in the PCI slot came from having a PCI channel card from our previous server. Doing this project on the cheap, we didn't want to buy a new new PCI-e card or other ATA.The Intel BOXD525MW is listed by Intel as a desktop board, but it is working very well in it's server capacity. We put it in a 1U box with the PCI Channel Card, a 60Gb SSD and a 200W (total overkill) power supply. To fit the back plate we had to trim 1/4 off the top with tin snips. That left just enough at the top of the back plate to fit into the box without clipping into any of the cut outs. At present we have disconnected the fans that came pre-installed in the box to see if we can get the board to heat up. It is not producing much heat as the CPU is not very busy and of course the SSD helps with that power reduction as well.Documentation is great. The installation instruction poster is graphical and very clear if you follow steps starting at 1. I never did check the CD that came with the board. It wasn't relevant to what we were doing. I was very pleased with the price and the purchase process. I think I will purchase another one for myself to upgrade my 9 year's computer at home.

Great System Board! Needs HDMI for 5 Stars!
I'm using it for a six camera security system. Solid performance. Next time, I will be buying the version which includes a HDMI port.

All right but...
The NIC on this board has never worked. There are many people on the net who had similar problems after activating sleep mode on this model mb (like I did). Weeks of stress. Unable to update antivirus. If used with a DSATX it is not yet ready by the time the start pulse is sent. Any advice???

Not Intel Boxed - not as advertised. No I/O Shield - can't install in standard case.
This was not in the Intel box - not in any box. And did not include any parts that would normally come with these - no I/O shield (essential to installing), no cables, no CD. Definitely not oem boxed item. The motherboard itself did appear to be new and in original, sealed static bag, but that's all there was. Can't install without I/O shield. Also, if it was truly an Intel boxed item with all the oem bits that come in the box, there would be other useful things in there, but without that I/O shield, this thing is useless unless you're making some kind of custom cutout case.

I tried for years to turn this into a home ...
I tried for years to turn this into a home theater for an HDMI or DVI screen. But finally gave upas I could never get anything near high def to work. The board is ok as a low power server of some kind, but the graphics are very limited.

Now here is a sweet little board for entry level computing and reliability.
This is not the right motherboard for gamers. It's an entry level basic motherboard really used for simple tasks such as browsing the web, running office applications (not intensive database sorting) we use these boards for our point of sale machines mostly on the kiosk side and not the server side. For server side usage we normally use the Intel DH77DF motherboard which packs much more power depending on the cpu installed. However, this is a really reliable little board, very little heat buildup which creates a very stable system. It's a workhorse for continued daily use of a single software or two. Installing too many applications in a system using this motherboard will not give you a great computer experience. (Well Maybe For Some) For more info on this board I suggest you visit the Intel web site to see if this is what you really need. Trying to boost the performance of this board by using SSD drives and faster memory will not give you much of an impact in terms of performance vs price. We even tried it as a media htpc and while it did a fairly decent job, one could see where it was a bit under powered. If used as a server, you may get away with light usage but by no means will it do well with more than two users at a time. I guess it depends on the type and size of the data it needs to serve up. I my opinion I'd only use it for what I've said above. In terms of reliability, simplicity and available connections, it's great and the price is fair. We have quite a number of them installed at various locations running the kiosk side point of sale software and they run everyday 24/7 without a glitch. Some of these boards are well over a year old and still going strong. So far we only had two of these boards out of 50 that died and both were well over the warranty period running under some stressful conditions such as being locked up in a cupboard without any ventilation. Hey! it's not something we wanted to do but the owner of the establishment preferred the décor and would rather buy extra motherboards since he considered them really inexpensive. He's still got three more machines built in the Antec ISK-110 cases hidden under these cupboards without any ventilation and running them over a year without any problems..!!! If any of the above is what you're planning to use these boards for then I'd recommend you get these motherboards and see for yourself.

Runs Like A Champ
I unboxed this motherboard, mounted in the case, installed 2GB of RAM, connected the cables and it fired right up.Very easy to setup this motherboard. I easily installed Windows XP SP3 from a DVD that I had burned then updated all of the drivers from the CD included with this mobo. Performance is snappy. Task Manager shows 4 CPUs.I have only had it up and running for a few hours but everything seems stable thus far. This is my second build using an Intel Atom mini-ITX combo. Very satisfied. I built my first one in a similar configuration almost 2 years ago. Both boxes use an Apex MI-008 mini-ITX case.Tip: Pick up some shorter SATA cables.Update after 1 week: Still running great. Web pages load in a snap. It even runs older pc games (circa 2000) with ease. Onboard video with Acer G205H Bbd 20-Inch Widescreen LCD Display (Black) looks fabulous.

Cool and quiet but no ahci driver for windows xp
Set up was easy. Runs cool and quiet. Updated latest bios from intel. However, there is no AHCI driver for windows xp. The SATA drive is IDE in bios setup for windows xp. Windows 7 should have built in AHCI driver for the nm10 chipset.

Fantastic motherboard
I only have a couple of complaints to make about this motherboard: 1) No USB 3.0 2) The I/O plate is poorly designed and is a little tricky to work with (not a major issue though) 3) The legacy ports are unnecessary - who still uses a PS2 mouse/keyboard?This is a great motherboard and a complete solution - it has an integrated Intel atom dual core processor. The atom processors have come along leaps and bounds in the last 2 years, and this one really packs a punch, yet is very low powered, so much so that it can be cooled passively without a fan, which is a fantastic feature of this motherboard. The graphics on this thing aren't great - if you want to play 3D games, go for something else (the Zotac ITX boards are great for that) but that's fine for me because I'm using it as a Linux server, which doesn't even have a GUI.At £50 this motherboard is a great buy.
