I'm the phone receptionist, among other things, where I work, and I have the Avaya 9608 admin phone. This headset is saving me a fortune in chiropractic bills! Since I'm continually multitasking, I HAVE to answer the phone while doing other stuff, and the headset makes it a LOT easier.Pros:- It was easy to install- Super-easy to operate- there's no remote, but you just use the "headset" button on the phone itself to answer calls. All of the controls are through the phone, so it's really simple- Sound quality does not suck! I can hear the callers really, really well, and they hear me just fine, so long as the mic is positioned reasonably close to my mouth- I no longer have to try to cradle a handset on a shoulder while typing or doing everything else I gotta do in the course of a dayCons:- The headband is waaaay too big. I have really short hair, and a small head- the band is ridiculously large! However, I've found that if I wear this thing at an angle, and kinda tuck the "dummy" end of the headband behind my right ear, it stays on and isn't uncomfortable.- The cord isn't all that long. It does stretch, but I use a standing desk half of the time, and it limits my "reach", so to speak If I'm standing and using the headset, the distance to the phone on my desk is greater, and I don't have as much room to move in another direction. I'm not gonna dilute the signal by adding an extension to this cord. I suspect that it won't work all that great, if I do- but it does limit movement, and that's slightly annoying.Other things to note: I am using this on a 9608 WITH A SIDECAR, which means I have the power booster pack on this phone, and this may be part of why the headset works so well with it. I am not sure whether this works so great with the standard low-powered setup, but it absolutely does, with the added power pack, and the switch on the back (the IEEE switch) set to High (H setting). The other thing is, for the price, this ROCKS. I've already recommended it to the gal who does phone reception at our other large store, since we're all on the same system. Great buy for the price, and it actually WORKS! Hope this review helps someone else. :)

I love this for work but sometimes it seems like the person on the other end has a lot of trouble hearing me even though the microphone part is right up to my mouth. I sometimes have to cup my hand around it while I talk. I can hear them fine, they just have trouble hearing me at times. It still beats trying to cradle the phone on my shoulder....that was causing shoulder and nerve issues so I won't complain!!!UPDATE!! After using it for 7 months, it is now malfunctioning. It randomly picks up the phone without me pushing any buttons. It also has decided to be very static and the person on the other line is not able to hear me.

Used for less than a year and it won’t work anymore. So annoying.

This headset works very well with our Avaya 9608 telephones. Just plug into the headset port on the back of the 9608 and the headset is ready to use. Voice quality is very good too.

Just got it and it works GREAT! Used it for 2 telephone interviews I needed to conduct and I could hear the candidates clearly. It's comfortable and comes with an extra ear thing as a replacement. Cord is long enough and just plug it in and talk! I've already told my IT Dept so if anyone else is looking for a headset, they can tell them about this one. The previous one I had, wireless and expensive, was awful. Sounded like people were in a tunnel. It's sitting in my storage cabinet - unused. Glad I found this one.

95% of the time, everything works normally. That 5%, I've gotten the complaint: "you sound like a robot!" As a 911 dispatcher, I'd like people to feel comfortable talking to me if possible.Seems intermittent. Also I've heard that I'm not loud enough for people to hear. When I took off the foam at the end that solved the problem.

It was so easy to set up and works flawlessly. I plugged it into the headset jack on the back, when I want to use it I push the headset button on the phone instead of setting up the receiver. I have an Avaya 9608. I would highly recommend this to anyone with this model phone looking for an affordable option to the $100+ cordless headsets being sold.

We purchased these for work, we had great results for about 4 hours. Then, the person on the other end could not hear us. There was a clicking sound when the clip/port was checked. Tried in a different phone the next day. same results. Worked great for hands free retrieving voice mail only. Due to budget, may try 1 more set. Not. hopeful.
