Phenomenal Start to a Promising New Series
When I first started reviewing romance, I stumbled across a few male romance writers. Because it was almost like finding a unicorn in the wild, I tried books by several of them. Nearly 1000 reviews later, Miller is one of only two I’ve stayed with faithfully, each new release being an auto 1-Click for me. Over time I’ve watched his skills grow, with each new book being better than the last.Alex and DJ's story is the first in a brand new YA/NA series set in a mid-west college town. DJ Dalton is the promising new football star in a university that has an overabundance of incoming female freshmen. Due to a mix up because of her name, Alex Reyes is assigned to the Dalton dormitory whose population is 100% male, except for Alex. Even worse, she's assigned a dorm room with the big man on campus himself, DJ. Awkward. DJ may be attracted to the fiery Alex, but at least he's one of the few guys who makes eye contact with her eyes and not her shirt. With the humor and heart (and a dash of heat) we’ve come to expect from this writer, Alex and DJ's story is compelling, engaging and tons of fun. I read this story in one sitting, enjoying the typical antics of the college environment while appreciating the low angst level and refreshing maturity of the characters. This one will appeal to all romance readers, but especially sports romance and young adult fans. Get in on this series from the beginning, because once you read this funny, heartfelt, phenomenal story, you'll be eager to get your hands on the rest of the books in this series.

I enjoyed this book
Ok, so this was a great read but I hate to say it but this book was about kids, in college. Even though this book was brilliantly written, the age was a huge factor for me. Luckily there was no pregnancy or marriage proposal.I could so see this happening. My husband and I met when he was 17 and I was 18. We've been together for over 27 years. Since they were kids I really didn't get the vibe towards their chemistry. I think if this book had an epilogue 10 years in the future I could maybe see it. Not that is couldn't be there, I just couldn't see it.But don't get me wrong...I did enjoy this book. I could see the maturity that DJ and Alex had. They were both exceptional characters. I did like their interactions and the dialogue was spot on. I also enjoyed the intimate moments. They were well placed and dreamy. I was so thankful there was no drama. But the significance of DJ's father, was a bit unsettling. I absolutely hate what he put DJ through. It was extremely unfair. In all aspects. But luckily Aunt Mia was there.

Ehh
Overall it was a good book . I just think the back and forth between the two characters was long and drawn out and pretty petty . The book also jumps around and leaves many plot lines unaddressed so things keep moving like nothing happened so you’re left a little confused . Epilogue didn’t really have a point but I enjoyed the main characters and their stories . It added depth to the story which I liked though it didn’t go into as much as detail as I would have liked . Still good tho and should read it

Amazing!
Holy crap I loved this book so much! Mickey, I need more of these people for sure and I'm super excited I dont have to wait long for the next book. Your writing is simply beautiful!I loved the characters and the friendships. This group of friends both guys and girl rocked. I cant wait to read Grant's story! I also kinda hope I see some more of Luke as well even though hes a senior! His color game and way of thinking was one of my favorite parts of this book. So meaningful and true!I loved had awesome the Alex was. And let me tell you she was such an amazing person with a heart of gold wrapped up in a tattood package with piercings on top! She had a rough upbringing and that's putting it nicely but she still came out on top. I love a strong feisty heroine!I fell in love with Jocks all over again after reading this book. DJ was a dream guy in writing! Yes he had his moments of douchiness (what guy doesn't. Lol) but you couldnt help falling in love with him over and over again.I loved these two together and can't wait for more! Definitely a must read book. Once I started this I just couldnt put it down until I read the very last word! 5 stars from me for sure!

Very good but not enough
This is a very good story. I like the way Mikey Miller used the story lines to build a great climax , capturing the true behaviors of characters with a young adult mindset. Just for that I would read this book again. The downside for me is the time period of the epilogue. Why so short? Will there be a follow-up story to their love lives? The series is based on forever loves but this story did not demonstrate that at all, especially considering the main characters 's likely career path. The epilogue could have been used to highlight the forever part of this new found love. I was hoping that 10 years down the line, with booming Carter's and 2.5 kids later, these lovers would be a force to be reckoned with , avoiding their parents mistakes. Saying "I love her" and demonstrating said love "for her " are very different things and therefore not enough. Just my opinion .
