very poor quality lining
I have been running in ASICS for the past 30 years. These are most likely my last pair. The last 3 pair of ASCIS have been the 2000 series and these 3000 5's All three have had the fabric wear a hole in the top heal area of the inside lining. ASICS has a serious quality problem. This is not just me having this issue. I have read several reviews on Amazon and other sites from runners experiencing the same issue. I had less than 100 miles on these shoes when the heal area developed a hole in the fabric. I wear the proper socks and let my shoes dry after each run. There is no way a shoe like the 3000 5 should have this type of issue so early. I have been a faithful ASCIS user for many years but it is time I look for another running shoe.

and thought the 3000 sounded like an improvement from the write-ups
I've been wearing ASICS 2000 for the past 5 years; and thought the 3000 sounded like an improvement from the write-ups. However, I get better arch support from my 2000s and have switched back to wearing my previous 2000s. So, give it some extra thought before moving from the 2000 to the 3000.

On my seventh pair
I am on my SEVENTH pair. I run about 200 miles a month on roads and trails. I run trails with Solomon’s but all my road running I done in these. The only running shoe (and I’ve got nearly 7000 miles under my belt) I’ve ever had that totally agrees with my feet. Blister and hot spot free. About a 400 mile life per pair before they start to go flat. Extremely good fit. I am a mid sole striker but tend to overprobate on sub 7 minute mile downhills. These compensate well.

decent shoe, but NOT durable
I have about 88 miles on these shoes and the heel support, where my achilles contacts the shoe, is tearing already. I've had the shoes about two months. I have worn the previous generations of this shoe and had success with them, but these are not cutting it. I usually get 300+ miles on a shoe no problem.

Perfect for me.
Very happy with these shoes as had to replace an older pair of ASICS. I mainly walk and run a few 5k races now days and these provide the perfect level of support for my body type after being fitted at the running wild store in Fairhope, AL.

So far so good.
My son has been wearing these shoes for several months now. So far these shoes seems to be adequate for the purpose we purchased them for. They are also very sturdy and well made.
