Pros: This is a very nice reading lamp for positioning behind your chair and providing light for reading. The flexible neck lets you get just the right position, the base is nice and sturdy even on thick carpet, and it assembles easily with no tools required. And the light is bright but not harsh on your eyes.Cons: It IS NOT very useful if you're looking for a lamp to provide normal room lighting the way a florescent bulb does. Imagine having a moderately powerful flashlight in your room, pointing in whatever direction and covering about twice as large an arc as a flashlight would --- that's what this light resembles if you attempt to use it as a normal room lamp. If you want to light a room, this is not the lamp you're looking for.

The sturdiness of the lamp is great. The lighting is really helpful

I got this lamp for my office, where I have no windows. I just moved to an office with no windows and was very concerned about the amount/quality of light that I have. I have a lot of plants and was afraid the plants would not do well in this windowless environment. I got the lamp to help with the plants and also for myself, so that I would have a more natural looking light in my office space. So far it seems to be working well. The plants seem to be doing OK after a couple of months, and I am happy with the amount and quality of light in the office.

I purchased this bedside lamp to replace the one I had for years and loved. This model is ridiculously tall and the look of it is odd. The pole portion is so skinny and has this large size lamp head. This is a foot taller than my previous "normal" floor lamp and is not asthetically atractive in any way.

It's a decent lamp but the bulb is not bright. Because it's a cfl, it takes time to warm up and get to full brightness however even when it's been running for several hours I would say it's only equivalent to a 60 watt bulb at most. Which doesn't match my personal definition of a bright light.

6/12/17 Bought it last week. Plugged it in & loved it! Then it stopped working when I tried to turn it on. So I dismantled it 2 days ago, re-assembled & it worked again. WHEW! But then it happened again -- I just turned it off an hour ago, went to turn it on again and....nothing. I will be returning it & will keep updating if the replacement sucks too.6/26/17 Replacement just came in & I just put the new one together. It works.Funny thing about the defective one -- the day after I ordered the replacement, I flipped the toggle switch again, and it DID work! But by that time I had already put in for a replacement. I felt bad, until it happened again! The switch didn't work! Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Hey, it’s probably just a defective switch & I “lucked out” in getting that one. I will continue to report about the exchange, & how the new lamp works, in updates for this item. Thank you Amazon for the prompt replacement! One other comment -- this is a TALL lamp. they do have a 5' version, if 6' is too tall (if you want to turn it on while in a recliner, get the 5' one!). UPDATE: Still working!!!!! Love it.

Easy for me without me without instructions to put together. I only wish it had switch for brightness like my old one. It tends to be too intense actually have to move it to deflect light. Might want to add a switch so intensity can be adjusted.

I purchased several of these based on the height shown in the product images. The size shown on the 2nd product image is inaccurate (as of the date of this review). It shows 72" (6 feet) after the lamp is bent down in its reading position. This lamp is actually 72" with the lamp pointed STRAIGHT UP. it's only 62" high in its actual reading position.The light worked well, seemed bright enough for some basic lighting needs, but the size is not as depicted.This is identical to other lamps like it on Amazon, and even two lamps that I purchased at that big 'home' box store which cost a little less, with the exception that they are branded with different names. However, all the other lights appear to depict the height correctly on their product selling pages. I paid more for this particular listing because I was looking for a taller lamp which was inaccurately depicted here. I'm deducting 2 stars for the inconvenience of having to send these back. Plus the inaccurate information gives this seller an edge over other, more honestly depicted, listings for the same lamp, some of which are less expensive. I'm also deducting another star because these lamps seem over priced for the overall lower-end quality.My recommendation is, if another lamp looks identical to this it probably is (check the base and the head lamp designs, that's were some differ); if so go with whichever lamp is cheapest, they're probably all made by the same Chinese manufacturer who simply labels them with a distributor's private label.Edit: I'm reducing this review from two stars to one because after I sent these back due to the wrong size information the seller withheld 50% of the cost as a restocking fee. I purchased four units because I believed the seller's measurements, so the loss was $85 to me for lamps that were not usable and returned within the return window. I will call Amazon to dispute this.But warning to anyone purchasing these - be prepared to be charged a hefty fee if you have to return these for any reason.

The lamp is solid but not as bright as I would like it to be. I'm worried when the bulb burns out, the lamp will be garbage. I can't find anything about the company that makes it to inquire about replacement bulbs. Sorry I bought it, but will still keep it for the basement. It's not nice looking

Solid lamp with a level and colour of light that is easy on the eyes.

Great light Perfect for my needs. It was easy to put together light is easy on the eyes as well was bright for my projects and reading.

I love my lamp; it makes sewing and doing small detailed work so much more enjoyable now that I can see it better.
