Great resource; would be helpful to include addresses
This is a great book to have on Kindle, especially if you are somewhere without any cell phone reception, and it has introduced a number of fun hikes. My only suggestion would be to include the city names and addresses in the "Key At-A-Glance Information" section. I imagine the GPS information is helpful for those who use it, but for those of us who do not, it would be far easier than figuring it out by reading the directions and looking at the map.

"60 Hikes" Allows You To Know Before You Go...
Now that I've reduced my work schedule to part-time, I have more time for fitness and exploring the many beautiful parks and trails throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. "60 Hikes in 60 Miles" allows me to research hikes before I go, to know how to get there, where to park, how accessible the trails are, how long it will take to get there, how strenuous the trail is, what to expect and how to prepare in advance. Though the guide does not cover every trail in each park, it highlights a trail that is representative of what's available at that park or location. I photocopy just the few pages of the book that relate to a particular trail instead of carrying the entire book with me on a hike. I look forward to exploring all 60 hikes !

Excellent companion to the website
I've been a fan of Jane Huber's website, bahiker dot com, for years and finally bought her book to support her. The book compiles 60 of the hikes that are also online. I continue to use the website more when finding a hike to take, but the book is handy to bring along. It's also nice to browse through it when I'm not immediately planning a hike.

Solid hiking resource
I am not much of a fern & flora fan, most of this discussion about cute little bushes leaves me yawning. But the hike information and suggestions are terrific, as is the basic organization of the book. It really is a great book for the outdoor library.

Good book
The book introduces many easy to moderate trails. It was hard for me to choose between this book and "Top Trails: San Francisco Bay Area".Finally I owned both, and slightly more like trail selection in the latter book.

You will want this book if you plan to hike near the Bay area
Thorough guide book with beautiful photos. (The 4th edition has color photos!) You'll find details and information for easy, moderate, or challenging hikes. Author also has extensive knowledge of plant life and includes photos of trees and flowering plants. Reading through it makes me want to buy a plane ticket to SF. (Photos are from the Phoenix Lake hike on page 56-57.)

Recommended
Have this for a few cities. This one is especially good and updated. Has a chart that helps looking for what suits you: if you want to hike with kids/dogs, short/long hikes, hikes that have more attractions in the area etc..

but I'm extremely pleased with how it went
I've only tried one new hike out of the book, but I'm extremely pleased with how it went. I led the hike and my friends were very impressed with my knowledge of the route. Of course it all came from the book.
