Doro 8035 Unlocked 5 MP Camera Smartphone for Seniors with 5" Display, GPS Localisation and WhatsApp (Blue)

I bought this for my mum who wears hearing aids. She was very reluctant to have to learn how to use a new phone and not at all keen to have a smart phone but with children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in Australia we felt it was the best option to keep connected. Firstly she definitely hears more clearly using this phone. It was easy to set up for her and within weeks she was adding people to her contacts, had tried and used social media for the first time, had sent and received photos and video called. The prompts asking her what she wants to do have really simplified getting to grips with new technology at the age of 81.Would highly recommend for any tech resistant older user.

Battery now overheating. Since update so much harder to use, keeps going into safe mode.Going back to using the flip phone model. Wifi keep going off not good for my elderly father, we only bought this model as needed internet.n

I bought this for an 80+ year old relative. Finally, a smartphone she can actually use. Very intuitive interface which guides you to what you want to do. Can be switched over to the standard interface for more expert users. A good solid phone and very useable for senior+.

Really disappointed with this phone. Bought for my older Mum. Easy to use but already it’s stopped working and is not repairable. Although only ordered in August 2020, I cannot return the phone. So I’ve had to purchase a new one for her. She’s not a big user, just Messages and an odd phone call or photo. An expensive mistake!

Being a senior citizen I am not really smart enough for smart 'phones. Over the years I have purchased quite a few but always go back to my dumb 'phones. This one has changed my life. It is the first one that I am comfortable with and can now "What's App" my friends and family and get apps from the Playstore. The fonts are larger and the volume is louder and I love it.

It takes to long to find the app that I wish to use, not as easy to use as advertised.

This phone was to replace my other Doro phone which had developed a fault (as all devices can do) New phone delivered very quickly and I once again can keep in touch with my family. I have found this phone very easy to use, especially with the increased volume facility.

Runs Android 7.1 which is no longer supported, the last update was apparently September 2019. Android now only updates versions 8,9 and 10. It appears not to have all the Android features as the menus don't correspond to information that's available either from the sellers or on internet searches. It has excellent standby battery life and is fine as a phone. The touch screen responds before actually being touched which is not helpful with my old shaky hands. Sensitivity apparently is not changeable. Box leaflet lists a stereo headset among contents but this is no longer provided. Because of the lack of security updates it would be unwise to use it for any confidential purposes such as banking or making purchases.
