Good Wireless Headphone Set
First unit received was defective, but Amazon promptly sent a replacement. Some reviews say it is hard to get the headphones on the charger unit but, knowing this, it has not been a problem. The charger unit has worked well and I have not had any problems with "dead" batteries. After some fine-tuning of the frequency controls, the reception is excellent with virtually no interference. The range is good as long as you stay in the general area of the base unit. However, you can't walk down the street and maintain reception. For me, the headphones fit well on the head and around the ears, allowing me to wear them comfortably for hours. There is a handy volume control on the headphone unit along with a quick "auto-scan" button to adjust the frequency if needed.Would definitely buy this quality headphone again at the great price offered. As usual, I received the order quickly.

Good phones!
This would be a 5 star item for me, they're simple to use, easy to charge. The only thing I don't like is the covering on the ears, its a soft but a little rough material that itches after a little while. I've been putting tissues over the ears to make it more comfortable. It does have a rubber head band that makes them bearable. I would say the performance is fine, easy enough to set up, but I found by plugging into the TV like they instruct, doesn't work. I plugged into the DVR directly and they worked fine. This allows you to have two volume controls...one for the TV if someone is in the room, and another for the headphones. Hope this helps.

A decent wireless headphone
I bought this unit to replace my older JVC HA-W100RF which still works but the earpad starts to come apart. I'd say that the older HA-W100RF unit looks and feel a lot more expensive than the new one. Even the earpads on the old unit feel light and easy on the ears. The ear cups on the new unit is a bit too big and it is fabrics rather than soft vinyl. I do think that the sound quality and the range are similar but the new unit has auto gain as well as auto tuning. It's the auto gain is what cause the loud static when the audio source ends or disappears (CD music ends or TV goes off air). I hear static every now and then just like on the old unit but that is the nature of wireless. This is no different than the cordless phone so I don't understand why many people don't get it. If people wants absolute audio quality, you have to get a wired headphone, period. What this gives you is the mobility of 150ft. inside and outside the home. The charging stand is OK but I prefer the old one better because it hangs the headphones better and it has RCA inputs while the new one has only a mini audio input. I also got a pair of Sennheiser RS130 and the sound quality is much better but I also pay a lot more for it. I like the Sennheiser RS130 because it has built in surround sound to watch movies or sports late night without waking up others in the house.Updated 1/22/2018: It's still going strong after 7 years for hours of listening. I have to say that it outlasts the HA-W100RF because the earpads are still intact and comfortable. It is over the ear design, so I can wear it more comfortable for more than 1 hr. each time. The effective range is about 50-60ft., beyond that, the static noise starts to surface. If it it line of sight, I am sure it will give me clarity beyond 100ft. All in all, good investment but alas, it is now discontinued so I will likely upgrade to Sennheiser RF at some point in time. I would not consider any wireless headphones with IF, it is limited by line of sight where RF gives more flexibility for location of the audio source.

Performance so bad I was shocked
A terrible disappointment.JVC products have performed well for me in the past. My familiarity with the brand, and the reasonable price, prompted my purchase of these headphones.Their awful performance was a surprise and a shock to me.When I stood or sat within 2 to 3 feet of the transmitter, the headphones sounded great. From 4 to 6 feet, there was an annoying hiss. From 6 to 12 feet I could still hear the music but the noise was awful -- totally unacceptable. Any greater distance than that and the noise was so loud it completely drowned out the music.Maybe the headphones I received were defective, but they were absolutely useless to me. I returned them to Amazon immediately.Amazon handled the return and refund to my credit card promptly. Great company to do business with. But in this case, the product was substandard.

Great wireless headphones for the price
Great wireless headphones for the price. It has to be remembered that these are from an earlier time before the 2.6 gig band was open for use by this type of device. As such they are subject to some types of outside interference. If you use these earphones for a computer or around a cell or wireless phone you will hear a bit if interference. The base has a power saving mode and when it switches off you do hear an approximate 40 millisecond pulse of white noise. Other then this I thought the performance was great. I enjoyed the bass response in that it implied a sense of presence that most headphones in this price range wired or not do not have.

Nice set for the price!
OK, so these are not the highest end set, but for the money they are really quite good. I got these to use with my electronic drums when I'm practicing at home to replace a pair I was not happy with. First thing I thought was "wow, you can hear the hi-hat". Where I have this set up there is a very low hum all the time, but it is low enough that when there is anything being played through them it is drowned out. I giver these a rating of 5 based on the quality for the priceOne note, it is kind of odd to have to take off the ear cover to get to the batteries. NOTE, to successfully and easily get the ear cover back on, read the directions, they make it very easy.

Awesome For Me
I live in a 1152 sqft manufacture home and needed something to enjoy my movies without turning the volume up and down every 30 seconds or so. The volume control is on the left side and so is the channel (only 3 channels). Power is on the right side. Fits over my two hearing aids (inner ear) wonderfully. I have it connected to my entertainment computer to watch Netflix. I think they sound awesome for me. There is no surround sound but, I here sounds that I can't hear on my big speakers. Makes the movie more enjoyable. I sit about 9 feet from the base and haven't run into any interference yet.I would of given it 4.5 stars only because the 2 AA batteries (came with batteries) are behind the cushion (right side) which is a bit of a hassle to put back on.

Average but adequate
These headphones provided average sound amplification, nothing special but adequate for one with hearing aids. I found the fabric ear pads very thin, and awkward to remove and replace when inserting batteries. After a half-hour or so of listening, I found the pressure on the ears to be uncomfortable. All in all, you get what you paid for.

One of the better sets I have used
Not a bad buy but was expecting better from the other reviews given. They are one of the better pairs of cordless headphones that I have bought. When they have no interference they sound great, but at times they do get static(not nearly as often as the other sets I have used). Plus when the sound goes static you can still hear what your listening to, it does not drop like others that I own. Also the fit, to me it just doesn't feel right, it has an odd feeling with the way the 2 bands are set up. Something I will live with for now as it is the best set I have.

great value for price
reception range is not great (better not to exit the room or you'll get noise) but it's definitely good enough for my TV use.Sound (when used in same room) is excellent, very few interferences, and it's very confortable - you can wear it for hours without ear disconfort. It also fits well on my Small-sized head.Definitely worth the price!

Noisy. Static. Hiss. I Returned These and Got Sennheiser RS 160 Digital Wireless Headphones
Wow. Talk about "hiss, static, background noise!" These are junk, that's the only polite way to say it. 900 Mhz devices are known for such problems, I hear. I returned these and bought more expensive Sennheiser RS 160 Digital Wireless Headphones instead (which is digital signal, rather than the JVC analog). My advice is, if you want noise-free listening (especially in an area with computers), don't waste your money. In headphones, you get what you pay for.
